Guest guest
Dear All, It is always good to know a little more about the different religious traditions. In particular, it is good to be able to 'see' the interconnections between the different religions, because the 'connections' are there if we take the time to look for them. So, i would encourage anyone with information on 'connections' and 'inter-connections' among the various religious traditions, please do not hesitate to share that information with us here. After all...according to Shri Mataji...all religions are different " Branches " on the same " Tree of Life " so we should expect to be able to find the 'connecting' factors. This will help us to be more accepting of differences, and it will help us to appreciate the similarities, also. (Even cultural factors would be of interest). At the risk of repeating myself...towards the goal of understanding each other's traditional spiritual backgrounds better...i invite YOU to share YOUR experience/s. i am sure we can all learn from what you have to say. Maybe some anecdotes, stories, whether 'good' or 'bad'...it will all add up to more understanding all around. i just want to say that one interesting fact i have learned from the URL below, is that 'Sikhism' is said to be the religion most closely related to Sufism! This is the kind of knowledge i find very interesting, (as well as others you may share also... We may also have questions we want to ask in regard to each other's spiritual traditions. We can do so here with mutual respect, understanding and tolerance...something that we do not always witness to be the case in the 'outside' world. Lets show that we can have spiritual harmony...that we CAN appreciate and learn from each other's varying spiritual/religious backgrounds. Maybe there are also 'things' which 'puzzle' us about other spiritual traditions. We can also explore these as well. best wishes, Violet " Sufism is older then Islam. Some Muslim nations are even trying to rid their country of Sufism. Sufis are usually Arabic but their religion traces its roots back to Abraham. The religion most similiar to Sufism would be Sikhism. In fact the Sikh history has several Sufis as their saints. Guest guest
Dear All, i thought of one more thing. What did you like about the traditional spiritual background you were born into? What did you not like? Did it suit you? All these and more are interesting experiences we can explore and share with each other. If you have any other comments or suggestions to add, please feel free to contribute them.
