Guest guest
Dear All, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi always spoke very highly and very fondly of the poet, Kabir, who She said was a very great man. Here is a poem that Kabir wrote which is called, the " State of Sahaj " , and he wrote it in the 14th Century (seven centuries ago): - The State of Sahaj.... Where there is neither sea nor rains, Nor sun nor shade; Where there is neither creation Nor dissoution; Where prevails neither life nor death, Nor pain nor pleasure; Beyond the states of Sunn and trance; Beyond words, O friend, Is that unique state of Sahaj. It can be neither weighed Nor exhausted, Is neither heavy nor light; It has no upper regions Nor lower ones; It knows not the dawn of day Nor the gloom of night; Where there is neither wind Nor water nor fire, There abides the perfect Master. It is inaccessible, It is incomprehensible, It is, and it will ever be; Attain it through the Master's grace. Sayeth Kabir: I surrender myself At the feet of my Master, I remain absorbed In his true company. " Kabir " Please be aware of the fact that there was no organization of Sahaja Yoga in Kabir's time, and yet he had the experience of Sahaj. In other words, the experience of Sahaj is not just the privilege of those who belong to a particular organization, but it is a Universal Experience. Especially now, that Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has opened the Primordial Sahasrara, the experience of Sahaj can be had by all who wish to have it. In another poem of Kabir's, which is about the " Bliss of Sahaj " , he describes that his mind has returned to its own primal state, and that he realized the Lord when he (Kabir) died while living. Kabir also says that as he is merged in the bliss of Sahaj, he no longer knows fear, nor inspires it in others. Here then is a URL with the poem about the " Bliss of Sahaj " that Kabir wrote plus further information regarding Kabir himself. Please enjoy. violet http://www.sol.com.au/kor/20_03.htm -- In , " Violet " <violet.tubb@. ...> wrote: > > Introduction > > Six hundred years ago Kabir was born in India in 1398 AD. Back home in India, he is perhaps the most quoted author. The Holy Guru Granth Sahib contains over 500 verses by Kabir. This is due to his straight forward approach that has a universal appeal. It is for this reason that Kabir is held in high esteem all over the world. To call Kabir a universal Guru is not an over exaggeration. To me personally, the very name Kabir means Guru's Grace. > > I have been personally very deeply influenced by reading Kabir. Why Kabir? reveals my feelings and also, how this idea of my translating Kabir's verses, came into its being. > > Inspite of the simplicity of Kabir's poetry, I must say, it is hard to translate. I humbly present some of his Dohas, Love Songs and Mystic Poems, in the following pages. > > Please note that what you see today is only a beginning. As we move along, more verses will be added on regular basis. It is my intention to include every possible known verse of Kabir on this site. This is not an easy task as according to rough estimates there are over 700 verses of Kabir. But I will try my best to do it. It may take its own time though. > > I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the support given to me by various people in developing this site. > > Thank you, > > Rajender Krishan > New York.
