Dear Eli and other seekers of the truth,

When a person receives their " self-realization " they are connected to the Divine

within. They receive the light of the Spirit through this connection. Shri

Mataji gave this gift to everyone who desired it. Not everyone was able to

receive it, but to those who WERE able to receive it... it gave them the power

to have their salvation or spiritual liberation. That salvation/spiritual

liberation has to be worked out diligently in the individual. It is not given

out on a silver platter, or a silver spoon. That part the individual has to work

out for themselves.

That is why seekers (like myself too) wanted to meet Her, and hear what She had

to say. i was looking for the Christian Comforter who Jesus promised would come

at this Time of the Last Judgment and Resurrection. Nobody seemed to fit that

bill until Shri Mataji drew me to Her. Others talked about kundalini awakening,

etc. but Shri Mataji not only talked about it; She also explained it and enabled

us to have it.

Most people do not have physical access to Shri Mataji these days, but they can

receive their self-realization through a guided meditation on the internet in

the comfort of their own homes. There in quiet privacy, they can receive the

connection to the Holy Spirit within and also feel the Cool Breeze of the Holy

Spirit. Also, those who have had their self-realization, can also 'pass it on'.

Shri Mataji has described this ability to 'pass it on' in terms of one lit

candle being able to 'en-light-en' other candles.

Self-Realization is the connection that enables the Light of the Spirit to flow.

Then the person has the connection with which they can work out their salvation

or spiritual liberation. This needs to be worked out very diligently. It is an

individual spiritual work and a person can only do this for himself or herself.

In the Scriptures, it refers to this diligent work needed, when it says to: -

" Work out your salvation with fear and trembling " (Philippians 2:12b).

Self-realization is the way that a person can get the electricity connected

(connection with the Divine) in their home (themselves) in order to have the

light ('en-light-en-ment) so that they can clearly see the spiritual work (the

working out of one's salvation/spiritual liberation) that needs to be done. Shri

Mataji has said that She has given us all the 'tools to do the job.'

If a person sits back after they have had their self-realization/enlightenment

and thinks that, " Ok, I have the light (enlightenment) now; I can take it easy

now; there is nothing else to do " ... then they will lose the little light that

they have been given… If however, they use that light to enlighten their

spiritual path as well as the spiritual path of others, then this light within

them will grow bright and strong.

There is a difference between enlightenment (of which the lamp is a symbol) and

spiritual liberation (of which the oil, that is, the oil of the spirit)...is a

symbol. In His " Parable of the Ten Virgins " (Matthew 25: 1-13), Shri Jesus

explains the difference. Here are Shri Jesus's Words.

(Please note that the words in brackets are my comments.): -

" Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their

lamps (`en-light-en-ment') and went out to meet the bridegroom. And five of them

were foolish and five were prudent, for when the foolish took their lamps, they

took no oil (the oil of the spirit) with them, but the prudent took oil in their

flasks (their beings) along with their lamps (along with their

`en-lighten-ment').

Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.

But at midnight there was a shout, `Behold the bridegroom! Come out to meet

him.'

Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish said to the

prudent, `Give us some of your oil (oil of the spirit), for our lamps (spiritual

lights) are going out.' But the prudent answered, saying, `No, there will not be

enough for us and you too... (each person can only have their own individual

source for the oil of the spirit within them)... go instead to the dealers (the

source within themselves of their own oil of the spirit)... and buy (obtain)

some for yourselves.'

And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and

those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was

shut. And later the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, lord, open for us.'

But he answered and said, `Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'

Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour. "

Jesus made use of the parable, so that those who did not understand their deeper

meaning, would however, be able to understand their external meaning. The

external meaning would remain in their consciousness, so that one-day, when

their inner spiritual understanding was awakened, then they too would be able to

grasp its deeper spiritual meaning.

The same could be said for Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's teachings, some of which

are also explained with the use of the parable... such as for example, that you

would not know there was a snake (something potentially dangerous) in your hand

or in your room (your self) but when you have the light (enlightenment), you can

see the danger, and avoid it.

On this same subject, here is another parable that Jesus gave. It comes from His

" Parable of the Talents " (Matthew 25:14-29).

(The words in brackets are my comments)

" For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own

servants, and entrusted his possessions to them. And to one he gave five talents

(spiritual talents), to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his

ability; and he went on his journey.

Immediately the one who had received the five talents (spiritual talents) went

and traded with them (used them), and gained five more talents.

In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more. But

he who received the one talent went away and dug in the ground and hid his

master's money (hid that talent/gift of self-realization that Shri Mataji gave

and did not use that talent.)

----

Note: I must mention here, by the way, that using the talent of self-realization

involves using this gift/talent received to enable a person to obtain their

salvation/spiritual liberation... thereby becoming one's own guru, master, and

teacher. No organization or any person can do that for you.

Even helping others to receive the gift of `self-realization' is not exactly the

same as using one's gift/talent of self-realization to continue on the path to

salvation/spiritual liberation. It is true, however, that as a person `works out

their salvation with fear and trembling' (Philippians 2:12b)... that they will

be able to help others also. The two go hand-in-hand. The light must be held

high for all to see. The gift or talent (of spiritual light) must not be hidden,

like the servant did in the " Parable of the Talents " where he hid his talent in

the ground. (This part of the parable continues below.)

" Giving self-realization only " ... is not in and of itself a guarantee of

salvation/spiritual liberation. A person might enable others to receive their

self-realization/enlightenment, but they may not themselves have yet achieved

their spiritual liberation. All the ten virgins in Shri Jesus's parable had

their enlightenment/self-realization. Their lamps were lit, however, they did

not have the Oil of the Spirit filling their entire being. In other words, they

had not yet " Become the Spirit " (which means operating from the Higher Self of

the Spirit rather than the Lower Self). When a person " Becomes Their Spirit " ...

that is also when they will become their own master, teacher, and guru. That is

when they have their salvation/spiritual liberation.

----

Continuing on with the parable: -

Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts

with them. And the one who had received the five talents came up and brought

five more talents, saying, `Master, you entrusted five talents to me; see, I

have gained five more talents.' His master said to him, `Well done, good and

faithful servant; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge

of many things, enter into the joy of your master.'

The one who also had received the two talents came up and said, 'Master, you

entrusted to me two talents; see, I have gained two more talents.' His master

said to him `Well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful with a few

things I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your

master.'

And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, 'Master, I

knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you do not sow, and gathering where you

scattered no seed. And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the

ground; see, you have what is yours. But his master answered and said to him,

`You wicked, lazy servant, you knew I reap where I did not sow, and gather where

I scattered no seed. Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my

arrival I would have received my money back with interest. (Btw this is the New

American Standard Version of the Bible.)

Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten

talents. For to everyone who has shall more be given, and he shall have an

abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be

taken away.

These teachings of Shri Jesus show that you cannot just have your spiritual

enlightenment and waste it, because if you do not use the gift of your

self-realization/enlightenment, then you will lose that gift. It is given to be

used for a great purpose, and that is to shine light ('en-lighten-ment') within

and without.

It is also most helpful to familiarize one's self with the original spiritual

teachings of all the Incarnations and Prophets, for their Words are all

important and help to shed light on our spiritual path.

One was aimed at " leadership " (but I think each one of us could see

the description of our own egos in it). She spoke at length about

domination, anger and making people afraid - obviously that we should

not have any of these faults.

point Her voice changed and got slower and slower. It was like She had

left us and gone into profound meditation and there were just remnants

of Her voice remaining. Afterwards She explained that it happens every

time She has to speak about Lord Jesus. The Puja was quite short, but

very profound with excellent bhajans sung by the Turks, Greeks and

Romanians.

1000 people. Shree Mataji spoke beautifully about Islam and the Koran.

This talk is so full of love and diplomacy, an excellent example for

all of us on how to speak to Muslims about Sahaja Yoga. They all got

their realisation in a matter of seconds. Shree Mataji was thrilled,

and promised that She would come back and see them all next year.

Shree Mataji sat for over a half an hour, shaking hands and saying

hello; said that the people were very good. On the following Friday,

Shree Mataji met with the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church who lives

in Istanbul. He took and felt his realization. "
