Guest guest
Shri Adi Shakti Forum Forum Categ.: The Message of SY: The Spontaneous Union with the Divine Yoga does not create the Reality but prepares the mind Posted: Mon May 02, 2005 10:54 am Posted by Jagbir Dear Forum Readers, " According to Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, the classical text on yoga, the purpose of yoga is to lead to a silence of the mind (1.2). This silence is the prerequisite for the mind to be able to accurately reflect objective reality without its own subjective distortions. Yoga does not create this reality, which is above the mind, but only prepares the mind to apprehend it, by assisting in the transformation of the mind – from an ordinary mind full of noise, like a whole army of frenzied and drunken monkeys – to a still mind. " This silencing of the mind is an important aspect of Yoga, if not the most important, and difficult, as well. The transformation of the mind takes time and the silence heals by erasing past conditionings. That is why it is difficult to attract religious fundamentalists to Sahaja Yoga as their narrow-minded conditioning rejects all other paths as inferior, even false. Thus it is critical that the religious masses understand how their religion and messengers form the very foundation of Sahaja Yoga. Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs and others must be comfortable and reassured that the essence of their traditions is upheld. Only after such knowledge is freely available is it possible for the masses to identify themselves with Sahaja Yoga and learn to silence their minds. Few will ever join a spiritual movement that has little to do with what they have been brought up to believe. That is when real spiritual growth takes place as all doubts and questions cease to exist. These are the obstacles facing Sahaja Yoga, which need to be urgently addressed: 1) The subtle system is practically unheard of even among the most religious. Just ask any person and you will understand what i mean. The first thing on their mind: What has it got to do with God, my scriptures? Most SYs cannot provide off-the-cuff information that is related to the Holy Scriptures. 2) Even if such information is available more questions arise. What is the need to get Self-realization when I can go to a temple, church or mosque? Where is it written in the scriptures that Self-realization is absolutely necessary for salvation? What has God got to do with all this? Unless such information is freely available few will ever join Sahaja Yoga. However, all these questions are being answered at this forum as the database continues to grow. Such a transparent and honest approach is absolutely required for the religious masses to embrace the Vision and Message of Shri Mataji. The plain truth is the only way left to reverse the abysmal failure of the past. Only a mind that knows about the Divine Message will be free from doubts and question to attain silence. Mere knowledge of the subtle system does little for the masses, even for genuine seekers conditioned by their inherited religion. Only the truth will liberate…. and that is the basis of this forum. We will eventually succeed where others have repeatedly failed. Jai Shri Mataji, jagbir
