For the noblest gift Thou art That a soul e'er sought or won, Have I wished Thee to my heart, Then my wishing all is done; Ah then yield Thee, nor refuse Here to dwell, for Thou didst choose This my heart, from e'en its birth, For Thy temple here on earth. Thou art shed like gentlest showers From the Father and the Son, Bringest to this earth of ours Purest blessing from their throne; Suffer then, O noble Guest, That rich gift by Thee possest, Which Thou givest at Thy will All my soul and flesh to fill. Thou art wise, before Thee stand Hidden things unveiled to Thee, Countest up the grains of sand, Fathomest the deepest sea, And Thou knowest well how blind, Dark and crooked is my mind; Give me wisdom, in Thy light Let me please my God aright. Thou art holy, enterest in Where pure hearts Thy coming wait, But Thou fleest shame and sin, Craft and falsehood Thou dost hate; Wash me then, O Well of grace, Every stain and spot efface, Let me flee what Thou dost flee, Grant me what Thou lov'st to see. Thou art loving, hatest strife, As a lamb of patient mood, Calm through all our restless life, E'en to sinners kind and good; Grant me too this noble mind, To be calm and true and kind, Loving every friend or foe, Grieving none whom Thou dost know. Well contented is my heart, If but Thou reject me not; If but Thou wilt ne'er depart, I am blest whate'er my lot; Thine for ever make me now, And to Thee, my Lord, I vow Here and yonder to employ Every power for Thee with joy. Be my help when danger's nigh, When I sink hold Thou me up, Be my life when I must die, In the grave be Thou my hope; Bring me when I rise again To the land that knows no pain, Where Thy followers from Thy stream Drink for ever joys supreme. http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/s/j/swjcknow.htm " Wisdom is very important in Sahaja Yoga, that you have to keep intact all the time. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Advice, Guru Puja - London, England – 29/07/80) Sahaja Yoga means " union with the all-pervading power of Divine love. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book) The Scripture also says: " How blessed is the person who finds Wisdom, and the person who [therefore] gains understanding. For Her profit is better than the profit of silver, and Her gain [finer] than gold. She is more precious than jewels; and nothing you desire compares with Her. She is a Tree of Life to those who take hold of Her, and happy are all who hold Her fast. " (Proverbs 3:13-15; 18) Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi clarifies what She considered as the " intelligence of wisdom " : " It has been found that those who have a superior type of intelligence take to Sahaja Yoga very fast. Most of the people we have now in Sahaja Yoga are extremely intelligent. Some of them are professors in universities. But intelligence can cheat itself. What is needed, is the intelligence of wisdom. It is a kind of special intelligence, which enables them to understand that: " This is the truth " . (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book – Chapter 2) Shri Mataji often talked about " brain knowledge " as being limited knowledge, because it comes from the brain. However, " heart knowledge " does not come from the brain. It comes from the heart. It comes " from within " . According to Shri Mataji, the Gnostics had this " heart knowledge " , for She referred to them as " enlightened people " : " The enlightened people were called as 'Gnostics'. This comes from the Sanskrit word 'Gna' which means knowledge. But knowledge does not mean what one knows through the brain, because brain or intelligence takes one to rationality, which has no wisdom behind it. Rationality can take one anywhere [and] can justify anything, as it is not absolute. So one has to go beyond rationality [and] develop the higher senses of Divinity, by which one can understand the real problems, and the actual solutions of all these problems. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book – Chapter 2) It can therefore be seen, that Shri Mataji referred to the 'gnostic knowledge' as the 'essence' of all the religions! This 'gnostic knowledge' cannot belong to the Hindus alone, the Buddhists alone, the Sikhs alone, nor the Christians alone, but it belongs to all the religions, who are just different branches of the one Tree of Life! Shri Mataji tells what Vishwa Nirmala Dharma (Sanskrit) really means: " Vishwa " means " universe " , " Nirmala " means " pure, immaculate " and " Dharma " means " religion " . (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book – Chapter 2) If you put all the Sanskrit words into English, you will see that it means exactly what it says... that it is a 'Universal Pure Religion'. Universal Pure Religion is a gnostic style of religion, because as Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi says, you cannot get it from any number of sermons, lectures, or books, but rather, it is about the real experience of the Spirit within oneself. Here is what She says: " One has to understand that this religion [universal Pure Religion] is the 'essence' of all the religions. It is the only religion that gives the real experience within oneself, which puts into one, that sensitivity for spirituality, which cannot be got out of any number of lectures, sermons, or books. Thus a Sahaja Yoga knows and respects all the incarnations and saints. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book – Chapter 2) Shri Mataji further states that to change this world and to save our people from complete destruction, we have to take to wisdom: " If we have to change this world, and if we have to save our people from complete destruction, we have to take to wisdom, and that is only possible when the brain is enlightened by Kundalini [by the power of the Holy Spirit]. This is what is very important today, when we see that this world is on the verge of destruction. Of course, the Creator himself is very anxious to save us, and that is why he has in these modern times, which are called Kali Yuga, made the all-pervading power activated. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – first small English book – chapter 2) Shri Mataji says that real wisdom is also innocence: " Whenever we hear nice things, we should collect them, keep them, and use them at the right time, at the right place. This is the wisdom of Shri Ganesh. [One should know that Christ Jesus is an incarnation of Shri Ganesh.] Innocent people are the most sincere people. Those who are clever can't be sincere, because they enjoy their cunningness and their brilliance. But simple people who are loving and who care for love more than anything else, can only say very nice things sincerely. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Birthday Puja - Sydney, Australia - 21 March 1990) Shri Mataji told Australians on Her birthday, in 1990, that sincerity is the wisdom of the heart. Here is an excerpt from the Birthday Puja Synopsis: " She said that we have to open our hearts. Sincerity comes from an open heart. Shri Mataji further explained the reason for not keeping pace with the heart. As the heart is a delicate thing, it rules the body and brain. When the heart becomes like a stone, it cannot pulsate. There are seven auras [emanating energies] around the heart, which control the seven auras around the brain. When the ego and superego start pressing the brain too much, these auras [around the heart] get pressed [becoming stony]. As the brain can always think, the brain doesn't become stony. [However, the heart will become stony] if the ego is too much and the person becomes stupid, or if the superego becomes too much and the person becomes idiotic. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Birthday Puja Synopsis – Sydney, Australia – 21 March 1990) The dictionary definition of " idiotic " is " feeble minded, a flighty fool, a foolish or unwise person, folly, a blockhead or imbecility " . Here is Shri Mataji's definition of the word " idiotic " : " Idiotic people are very sly, tell lies, talk nonsense, and try to convince others that they are right. They are not stupid. They are idiotic, meaning " without any wisdom " . (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Birthday Puja Synopsis – Sydney, Australia – 21 March 1990) The dictionary definition of " stupid " is " unable to learn, stupefied, senseless, insensible, deficient or dull in understanding, showing lack of reason or judgment, foolish, dull and boring. " " Between these two types of people, are Sahaja Yogis " . (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Birthday Puja Synopsis – Sydney, Australia – 21 March 1990) What Shri Mataji is basically saying, is that between these two types of people, are those who have their union with the all-pervading power of Divine love, which is what Sahaja Yoga means, and in this union, they do not exhibit stupidity or idiocy, but they have an open heart and a balance in their personality, which attracts others because they are pure, sincere, and loving people... and this is due to that union with their Higher Self or Spirit. So, how do we come into spiritual balance? It is by opening the heart. Shri Mataji explains how to open our heart: " Shri Mataji gave the key to opening the heart: " Opening your heart, means just to raise your Kundalini and see that the brahmarandra opens. Not only that, but you see how you feel by expanding your heart, by being nice to others. There are some people who do not talk much, who do not meet others, have reservations and live in the air. They must know there must be some badhas, some bhoots [negativity] sitting on their head. I've told you many things, because the care, the love, the affection, the wisdom and the patience is to be imbibed. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Birthday Puja Synopsis – 21 March 1990) Shri Mataji describes the opening of the Brahmarandhra [soft spot in fontanel area of newborn] as simultaneous with the opening of the heart, which is also one's entrance through the Narrow Gate [k/a " Agnya Chakra " by Hindus] to the Kingdom of God within [k/a " Sahasrara Chakra " by Hindus]: " When the Kundalini enters the Agnya Chakra [Narrow Gate], She enlightens it. Then Christ within you is enlightened or awakened. [Christ resides at the " Narrow Gate " ]. He sucks both these balloons of ego and the superego, and the whole Agnya Chakra opens. There is the simultaneous opening of the Sahasrara [the Kingdom of God within]. I saw the Sahasrara of the Virata [the Cosmos] open. It was like tongues of flames. Just like when you dissect the human brain, its cross-section looks like petals of flame. In the centre of it, it looks like a yellow hole. The opening of the Sahasrara is sudden. With a bang, it opens! " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi} http://www.adishakti.org/kingdom_of_god.htm According to the Scriptures, it is the Spirit of man, and not his age that makes him wise. In other words, wisdom comes from the Spirit: " But it is a Spirit in man, and the Breath of the Almighty [that] gives them understanding. The abundant in years may not be wise, nor may elders understand justice. (Job 32:8-9) It tells us in the Scriptures, that Wisdom cries out to Her children, and She tells them that She will pour out Her Spirit upon them. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has reaffirmed this promise: " Wisdom shouts in the street! She lifts Her Voice in the square at the Head of the noisy streets. She cries out at the Entrance to the Gates of the City. She utters Her sayings; How long, O naïve ones, will you love simplicity, and [how long will] scoffers delight themselves in scoffing, and fools hate knowledge? Turn to my reproof! Behold I will pour out My Spirit on you [and] I will make My Words known to you!' " {Proverbs 1:20-23) Now the Lord is the [Holy] Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is [awakened within] there is liberty.
