The Holy Spirit and the Kundalini ( " the Living Water " )

 

A living stream, as crystal clear,

Welling from out the throne,

Of God and of the Lamb on high,

The Lord to man hath shown.

 

This stream doth water Paradise,

It makes the angels sing:

One precious drop within the heart

Is of all joy the spring:

 

Joy past all speech, of glory full,

But stored where none may know,

As manna hid in dewy heaven,

As pearls in ocean low.

 

Eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard,

Nor to man's heart hath come

What for those loving Thee in truth

Thou hast in love's own home.

 

But by His Spirit He to us

The secret doth reveal:

Faith sees and hears: but O for wings

That we might taste, and feel;

 

Wings like a dove to waft us on

High o'er the flood of sin!

Lord of the Ark, put forth Thine hand,

And take Thy wanderers in.

 

O praise the Father, praise the Son,

The Lamb for sinners given,

And Holy Ghost, through Whom alone

Our hearts are raised to Heav'n.

Christ Jesus was waiting at a well in Samaria, while his disciples went to the

city to buy some food, when a Samaritan woman came along and drew some water

from the well. Christ asked her for a drink, whereupon she was very surprised,

because Jews did not normally have anything to do with the Samaritans. Then

Christ told her about the " Living Water " . He said to her:

 

" Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst, but the

water that I shall give him, shall become in him a well of water, springing up

to eternal life! " (Christ Jesus - John 4:13b-14)

 

[The " Living Water " that Christ was talking about was what the Hindus call

" Kundalini " , which means, " coiled energy " . Kundalini energy is what Christians

call " the power of the Holy Ghost " . This power of the Holy Ghost is located in

the Sacrum Bone. The Greeks called it " sacrum " meaning " sacred " . They obviously

knew the secret knowledge of our inner being, which has been the sacrum's sacred

secret! Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has been revealing this secret knowledge of our

inner being for the last 30 years or so, and this is what She said regarding the

power of the Holy Ghost]:

 

" Now I would like to tell [you], the secret knowledge of our inner being, which

was known in India thousands of years ago. For our evolution and spiritual

ascent, there is a residual power within us, which is located in the triangular

bone [ " the sacrum " ] at the base of our spine. This residual power was available

thousands of years ago in India. The awakening of the Kundalini was

traditionally done on an individual basis only. One guru would give awakening to

one disciple. As a result of that awakening, what happens is that you achieve

your Self Realisation, your Selfhood. Secondly, when this power is awakened, it

rises and passes through six subtle energy centres in your body, nourishing them

and integrating them. Ultimately the power breaks through the fontanelle bone

area, called Talu or Divine love, which is described in the Bible also as the

" cool breeze [Wind] of the Holy Ghost " . In the Koran, it is also known as " Ruh "

and in the Indian scriptures, [it is known as] " Paramchaitanya " . Patanjali has

called it " Ritambhara Pragya " . Whatever the name, this is a power, which is all

pervading, which does all the subtle work of the living process, of the

evolutionary process. The existence of this all-pervading energy is not felt

before Realisation... but after Self Realisation; you can feel it on your

fingertips or at the centre of your palm, or above the fontanelle bone area. "

[The " living water " (a.k.a. Kundalini) has the ability to thoroughly wash away a

person's sin, error or negativity (whichever you prefer to call it). Sin, error,

or negativity is anything that separates a person from the Divine, from God. In

Christianity, it is said that " one's garments are washed whiter than snow " ,

implying that these are " inner " and not outer garments. The Psalmist sang about

the power of God, to wash his inner garments from all sin, error, or negativity,

making them " whiter than snow " . It is obvious that the Psalmist was referring to

the energy centres or chakras, that are part and parcel of every human being's

psychosomatic (mind/body) system. Here is the Psalmist's Song]:

 

" Be gracious to me, O God, according to Thy loving-kindness; according to the

greatness of Thy compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from

my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. " (Psalm 51:2) " Wash me, and I shall be

whiter than snow. " (Psalm 51:7b)

 

[An angel's appearance is described as shining like lightning, and being whiter

than snow!]:

 

" And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord

descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And

his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow. " (Matthew

28:2-3)

 

[Here is more evidence of " inner garments of white " being worthy before the

Father and His angels]:

 

" Remember therefore what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent.

If therefore you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not

know at what hour I will come upon you. But you have a few people in Sardis who

have not soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white; for they

are worthy. He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will

not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My

Father, and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit

says to the churches. " (Christ Jesus - Revelation 3:3-6)

 

[The kundalini energy, power of the Holy Spirit, washes a person's sin, error,

or negativity, whiter than snow and connects him to the Kingdom of God within.

This is an actual happening! Several Sahaja Yogis (including the writer)

witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit, to wash a person's inner garments,

whiter than snow! Here is what happened]:

 

" Some of us yogis were raising the power of the Holy Ghost in people, which Shri

Mataji also calls " giving Self Realisation " . This was done at a Mind Body Spirit

Festival in Gosford, N.S.W, Australia. Next to our stall, was an Aura

Photography Stall. There were about 2-3 persons who came to our stall, saying

that they had just had an Aura Photograph done, and they showed us their aura

photographs, which all had a conglomeration of different colours and shades. So

we suggested that after they had their Self Realisation, they might like to

retake the photograph, and see if there was any difference, after Kundalini

Awakening. They acquiesced, as they were just as curious as ourselves! Well!!!

To everyone's amazement and delight, each person's new Aura Photograph was

" completely white " in colour!!! It was another confirmation to us yogis of what

we already knew about the Kundalini energy, or power of the Holy Ghost to

cleanse and wash a person's garments (human psychosomatic system) " whiter " than

snow!!! You can imagine that the Aura Photographer was surprised too, as he had

never seen such a thing happen before! "

 

[Christ Jesus also gave people their Self Realisation ( " their Salvation " ). Self

Realisation or Salvation are just two different words, for the same experience,

whereby one's garments are washed whiter than snow, and he enters the Kingdom of

God " within " . It must be known that the Kingdom of God is " within " a person, and

not without! Only the earthly kingdom is without, but the heavenly kingdom is

within. These Words of Christ 'say the same', which is " to go within " in order

to experience the heavenly kingdom]:

 

" Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it

shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,

and to him who knocks it shall be opened. " (Christ Jesus - Matthew 7:7-8)

 

[However, Christ did not tell everyone the secret knowledge of the Kingdom of

God, but rather spoke in parables, because humanity was not ready for the

Absolute Truth, at the time of the last dispensation of God's grace. However, He

left this to the universal Comforter to complete, whom He said would come and

further clarify everything He taught. We have now been given the pure knowledge

of the Spirit by the Comforter, in this new dispensation of God's grace, that is

the " Age of Aquarius " , which is a symbol of the Water Bearer that brings " the

Living Water " !!! In these Scriptures, it can be seen, that Christ foretold Her

Advent]:

 

" And Jesus spoke again unto the eleven and said,

" Grieve not because I go away, for it is best that I should go away.

If I go not, the Comforter will not come to you.

These things I speak while with you in the flesh,

But when the Holy Breath shall come in power, lo,

She will teach you more and more,

And bring to your remembrance all the words I have said to you.

There are a multitude of things yet to be said;

Things that this age cannot receive, because it cannot comprehend.

But, lo, I say, Before the great day of the Lord shall come,

The Holy Breath will make all mysteries known —

The mysteries of the soul, of life, of death, of immortality;

The oneness of man with every other man and with his God.

Then will the world be led to truth, and man will be the truth.

When She has come, the Comforter, She will convince the world of sin,

And of the truth of what I speak, and of the rightness of the Judgment of the

just;

And then the prince of carnal life will be cast out.

And when the Comforter shall come I need not intercede for you;

For you shall stand approved, and God will know you then as he knows Me. " (The

Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ - chapter 162:4-11 - by Levi)

 

[shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has fulfilled all Christ's promises regarding what the

universal Comforter would do. She has made known all the mysteries of the soul,

of life, of death, of immortality, of the oneness of man with every other man

and with his God, for the last 30 years or so (though She is now officially

retired, this being the year, " 2007 " .) At the time of His Incarnation, Christ

opened up the Primordial Agnya ( " Narrow Gate " mentioned by Christ). Shri Mataji

Nirmala Devi, the universal Comforter, and not just " the Christian Comforter " ,

has opened up the Primordial Sahasrara (Kingdom of God, mentioned by Christ)

that Christ said is like a small mustard seed, that will grow into a large

tree... 'a Tree of life'!]:

 

" He presented another parable to them, saying, " The kingdom of heaven is like a

mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than

all other seeds; but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants,

and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. "

(Christ Jesus - Matthew 13:31-32)

 

[shri Mataji Mataji Nirmala Devi has described the opening of the Primordial

Kingdom of God (Sahasrara), whereby She experienced a tremendous force of

vibrations, light, a fire-like appearance, profound Silence, and a torrential

drenching of the " Living Water " ]:

 

" As soon as the Sahasrara was opened, the whole atmosphere was filled with

tremendous chaitanya [vibrations] and there was tremendous light in the sky,

with the whole thing coming on earth with the tremendous force of a torrential

rain or waterfall, that I became stupefied and unaware! The happening was so

tremendous and unexpected, that I was stunned and became totally silent at the

grandeur of it!!! I saw the primordial Kundalini rising like a big, silent

furnace that had a burning appearance, as when you heat up metal and it has many

colours. In the same way, the Kundalini showed up as a tunnel-like furnace, such

as you can see in the plants where they burn coal to make electricity. And the

Kundalini stretched out like a telescope and out came the deities, one after

another: Shoo! Shoo! Shoo! Just like that! And the deities came and sat on their

golden seats and lifted the whole of the head into the shape of a dome and

opened it. And then this torrential rain completely drenched Me! I started

seeing all that, and got lost in the joy. It was like an artist seeing his own

creation, and I felt the joy of great fulfilment. After coming out of this

beautiful experience, I looked around and saw that human beings were so

[spiritually] blind, and I became absolutely silent and desired that I should

get their cups filled with nectar, rather than the stones that were there! "

[shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has also given some very precise knowledge on the

living water/living energy that is Kundalini. Here are some things that the

universal Comforter taught]:

 

" Kundalini is the primordial power, which is reflected within you like many

strands of energy that are twisted together - like a rope. In a human being,

these strands are 3 into [by] 7 that is 21, raised to the power of 108. Then

your Kundalini rises. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Germany – 11 August 1991)

 

[shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has also explained that the heart has 7 auras, through

which the Spirit watches and controls the brain. She said that the power of

these 7 auras in the heart can be multiplied into any number, for example, 7

raised to the power of 16,000, and that these powers keep an eye on the subtle

energy centres (chakras) of the body. Shri Mataji says that this is the normal

state of man, whereby the Spirit watches the workings of the brain (for example,

the Spirit watches all the nerves that are working in the brain) through these

auras. However, She says that when you bring the Spirit into your brain, that

you become fully Self Realised, in that the Spirit then becomes the brain. Shri

Mataji says that when a person first has their experience of Self Realisation,

and starts to become collectively conscious (meaning they are feeling the

vibratory awareness) and they start to raise the Kundalini that is when they

cross from the 3rd dimension to the 4th dimension. She says that when the Spirit

comes into the brain, that they are then in the 5th dimension, and that means

that they " become the Doer. " Then they are completely Self Realised. Here is

what Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi says]:

 

" The nucleus inside every atom or molecule has the Spirit of that [atom or]

molecule. If you become your Spirit, we can say that the brain of the atom or

molecule is the body of the nucleus, but the one who controls that nucleus, is

the Spirit that resides within the nucleus. So now you have got the attention of

the whole body of the atom [or molecule] and inside the nucleus is the Spirit.

In the same way, we have this body, the attention of the body, and then we have

the nucleus that is the brain, [but then] the Spirit that is in the heart,

controls the brain. How? Around the heart, there are 7 auras, which can be

multiplied into any number. Seven raised to the power of 16,000, which are the

ones [the powers] that watch the 7 chakras.

 

Now the Spirit is watching through this aura; 'watching'. I am again saying

'watching' through this aura. This aura is watching the behaviour of your seven

centres in your brain. It is also watching all the nerves that are working the

brain. 'Watching'; again. But when you bring the Spirit into your brain, then

you go two steps ahead. Because when your Kundalini rises, She touches the

Sadashiva, and Sadashiva informs the Spirit. Informs in the sense of Sadashiva

reflecting, in the Spirit. So that's the first state, where the watching auras

start communicating to your different chakras in the brain, and integrating it.

 

But when you bring your " Spirit " to your brain, this is the second state. Then

you really become Self Realised in the full way. In the full way! Because then

your Self, that is the " Spirit " , becomes your brain. Action then becomes very

dynamic, as the 5th dimension is then opened within the human being.

 

When you first become realised, collectively conscious, and start raising the

Kundalini, you cross the 4th dimension. But when your Spirit comes into your

brain, then you become the 5th dimension. This means you become the Doer. For

example, our brain says " Alright, lift this thing up " . So you touch it with your

hand; you lift it up. You are the doer. But when the Spirit becomes the brain,

the " Spirit " is the doer.

 

And when the Spirit is the Doer, then you become a complete Shiva; Self

Realised. In that state, if you get angry, you are not attached. You are not an

attached person to `anything' whatsoever. If you possess anything, you are not

attached! You cannot attach, because the Spirit " is detachment " ; complete

detachment. You don't bother about any attachments, whatsoever. Even for a

second, you are not attached.

 

Now I would say, to understand the detachment of the Spirit, we should study

ourselves very clearly – " How are we attached? " Firstly, we are attached by our

brain; mostly by our brain, because all of our conditionings and all of our ego

are in our brain. So emotional attachments are through our brain. That is why it

is said that after Realisation, one must try to practice detachment.

 

How do we practice this detachment? When we get attached to something, of course

it is through our brain, but [more precisely] it is through the attention. So we

try to do what we call " Chitta Nirodh " , which means, " to control your

attention " . Where is the attention going? In the practice of Sahaja Yoga [union

with the Divine], in order to rise higher, you have to improve your `own'

instrument, and not the instrument of others. This is one thing, one should

definitely know! You just watch your attention, as to where it is going! Watch

yourself! As soon as you start watching your Self [which is to watch] your

attention, you have to be the Spirit [to do that] because only your Spirit can

watch your attention! Otherwise, how will you watch it? So, [it is important] to

see where your attention is going. Firstly, the attachment is, in gross ways, to

your body, however Shiva doesn't know the attachment to His body! He sleeps

anywhere, even goes to cemeteries and sleeps there, because He's not attached!

He can never be caught by bhoots (negativity), nothing of the kind, because He

is detached! (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Maha Shivaratri Puja – Pandharpur,

India – 29 February 1984)

 

[so, Shri Mataji has described how this " living water " that is Kundalini, is

raised to a tremendous level, and clears and cleanses our subtle energy centres

from all sin/error/negativity. The inner person becomes purified, so he can have

his connection to the Kingdom of God, however once he has his connection, he

must endeavour to maintain a spiritual state of consciousness, before God,

through the power of the Holy Spirit that has arisen within him. Shri Mataji

also talked about bringing the Spirit into the brain, which spiritually

transforms a person. Here Shri Mataji gives more knowledge about the Kundalini,

which is the power of the Holy Spirit reflected in us]:

 

" One or two strands out of this [arising Kundalini] come up and pierce the

fontanel bone area. Kundalini [literally meaning " coiled energy " ] is a spiral,

which has to pass through the innermost Nadi known as Brahma Nadi [a.k.a.

Sushumna Nadi], which is also a spiral. The outermost Nadi [Pingala Nadi] is the

right side and the second innermost Nadi is the Ida Nadi. When the Kundalini

passes through the Brahmi Nadi, the sympathetic nervous system starts relaxing,

and when it goes to the Agnya Chakra [ " the Narrow Gate " that Christ talked

about], then the eyes start relaxing, and the pupils dilate, becoming very

black. This is a way to easily see how far the Kundalini has risen in the

person.

 

The Kundalini energy is absolutely the pure light of knowledge, love, compassion

and attention. It is the living energy, which knows how to handle Itself and

think. It is like the tip of a sprouting seed that knows how to go around all

the soft places, to encircle the stones, and then find its way to the source.

But within you is a tremendous force of Kundalini – a storehouse of love,

compassion, knowledge, and an ocean of forgiveness, which can be enlightened by

the Spirit. When people get Realisation, they do not understand that they now

have to " grow " , and the reason they do not grow, is that they do not ask for

these energies, in order to be more compassionate, more loving, more generous,

and not to exploit others. But if you do not want to be growing in our

awareness, then She (the Kundalini Mother) says: " All right. He's a half-baked

Sahaja Yogi. Let it be. " And She doesn't supply that energy which is stored

within you. Mundane desires such as asking for a job or cures for relatives are

impure, because they are not satiable [not able to satisfy fully].

 

This Kundalini that is your Mother, She is there to supply you, nourish you,

look after you and make you grow by giving you a higher, wider, and deeper

personality. But our ideas about people who [we think] have higher personalities

are wrong. People are higher, because they are spiritually evolved; otherwise

they are not [higher]. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Germany – 11 August 1991)

 

[shri Mataji further states that the Kundalini is the Pure Desire of God the

Mother, the Holy Spirit]:

 

" Kundalini is pure desire, which means that it has no lust or greed.

It is the power of your own [spiritual] Mother, who knows everything

about you, like a tape recorder. Whatever chakras (energy centres)

She touches, She also knows what's wrong with that chakra beforehand.

So She's quite prepared and adjusts Herself fully, so that you do not

get a problem by Her awakening. If any chakra is constricted, She

waits and goes on, slowly opening that chakra. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala

Devi – Germany – 11 August 1991)

 

" When the Kundalini rises, she pierces through the fontanelle bone area, and

connects us to this all pervading power of Divine Love, which is doing all the

living work, for which we do not need to pay. We are not obliged and we do not

even think about it. Thus, this vital power starts flowing within our being and

all our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems are solved, as our

genes are put in order. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – book, Meta Modern Era –

" So to [blame] your genes for your mistakes, is not going to work out anymore,

because these genes can be changed in their database, and can be brought to the

level of a very righteous, angelic personality. The ego and the conditioning of

a person gets dissolved by the ascent of the Kundalini, and he really becomes a

free bird! Absolute freedom is achieved " in reality " and his behaviour changes

tremendously, with great faith in himself! He becomes a witness of the whole

drama of life. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Fourth World Conference on Women's

" When you're in the water, you're afraid of getting drowned, but supposing you

get into a boat, [in that case] you can watch the water with enjoyment. If you

learn how to jump into the water and save others, then it's even a higher

situation! [in a similar way] we have a higher awareness, which is called

" doubtless awareness " . [When in " doubtless awareness " ] above all else, we fall

into the " Ocean of Joy " ! The joy is absolute! It does not have duality, like

happiness or unhappiness do, but it is a singular thing. Once you jump into it,

you will easily learn how to enjoy everything, whether it is 'the beautiful' or

'the ridiculous'. In one case you will see the beauty in people. In another

case, you will see the humour of 'the ridiculous' in people!!! " (Shri Mataji

[The Scriptures have told about the Word of God. Whether it is Christ Jesus, or

others who are filled with the Spirit of God, in each case, the Word of God

arises within them. From the following description of the Word of God, it can be

seen that it is the power of God, known as " Kundalini " that is being

described!]:

 

" For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword,

and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and

marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews

4:12)

 

Now the Lord is the [Holy] Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is [awakened

within] there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
