The Holy Spirit and the Tree of Life (Human Subtle System)

 

Our Father has planted a beautiful tree,

Whose evergreen branches His children behold;

They walk ’neath its shade in the City above,

Whose gates are of pearl and whose streets are of gold.

We may eat of the beautiful tree of life,

That stands in the midst of the City so fair;

We may eat of its fruit and be healed with its leaves;

No hunger, no sickness, no sorrow is there.

 

Beside the pure river of crystal it grows,

And yieldeth its fruit every month, we are told;

Its leaves for the healing of nations designed,

The nations who dwell in that City of gold.

Christ Jesus spoke about how we need to be connected to the Tree of Life, if we

are to bear much fruit. He explained this in terms of a parable about the Vine

and the branches:

 

" I am the Vine; you are the branches. They who abide in Me and I in them; they

bear much fruit, but apart from Me ['apart from the Christ Consciousness'] you

can do nothing. " (Christ Jesus - John 15:5)

 

[Christ Consciousness or Collective Consciousness is the true light that

enlightens every human being that comes into the world. In terms of the Tree of

Life, the Christ Consciousness becomes manifest, when the River of the Water of

Life, which is the energy of Kundalini, awakens and flows, thus clearing and

cleansing the person's psychosomatic system, so it becomes 'whiter than snow'.

Through the Grace of God, the person's individual spirit is healed when they are

raised to the Kingdom of God within. However, this Christ Consciousness can only

manifest within human beings because of the inbuilt subtle instrument, whose

awakened energy flows over the nervous system of the body, thus innervating it.

Here is some information about the nervous system of the body, which is also the

'electrical system' of the body that becomes innervated by the flow of the River

of the Water of Life, which is the Kundalini]:

 

" The Nervous system is the electrical system of the body. It connects the brain

with the organs. It is an internal communication system that relays signals with

short electrical impulses. The Nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal

cord and the nerves. The peripheral nervous system is made up of the nerves,

which extend to all parts of the body. The brain and spine make up the central

nervous system. The skull and spine are designed to protect the central nervous

system. Our nervous system helps our body to respond to the environment. Our

nervous system is the center for consciousness, memory, reasoning and emotions.

Health issues related to the nervous system are stress, insomnia, depression,

headaches, anxiety, nervous disorders and multiple sclerosis. "

[Here is some information on the inbuilt subtle instrument, which actually

manages or directs all the systems in the body, via the body's 'subtle energy

system' that flows over the body's 'electrical system', which is the nervous

system. Of particular importance are the energy centres, called " chakras " and

their energy channels, called " nadis " ]:

 

" Inside every human being there is a network of nerves and sensory organs that

interprets the outside physical world. At the same time, within us resides a

subtle system of channels (nadis) and centers of energy (chakras), which look

after our physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual being.

 

At the base of the spine, in the triangular bone called sacrum (the ancient

civilizations knew that there is something sacred about this bone) resides the

most subtle spiritual energy, dormant in most of us, called Kundalini.

Self-Realization is the awakening of this energy through the central channel,

piercing each of the energy centers and emerging at the top of the head

(fontanelle bone area) as a gentle " fountain " of coolness. The word fontanelle

itself means " little fountain " which shows again the ancient knowledge about

this phenomenon of Self-Realization.

 

Though Self-Realisation was the goal of all spiritual traditions of the world,

very few were able to achieve it. In these modern times, Shri Mataji has made it

an en-masse phenomenon through the spontaneous awakening of the Kundalini that

takes place in Sahaja Yoga. "

[The Tree of Life or Human Subtle System, is of such great spiritual import,

that it is even mentioned in the very first book of the Bible, as well as being

a theme within all the great religions of the world! However, God kept the

knowledge of the Tree of Life from the mass of human beings, until this special

Time]:

 

" The tree of life is a theme which spans the globe and permeates the great

religions of the world. The Bible begins in Genesis and ends in the book of

Revelation with the tree of life. In Genesis we are told that God forbade man

from the tree of life:

 

Then the LORD God said, " Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good

and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life,

and eat, and live for ever " ...He drove out the man; and at the east of the

garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every

way, to guard the way to the tree of life. (Genesis 3:22; 24)

 

So we see that God is keeping man from the tree of life, or that is, He is

keeping man from partaking of the tree (understanding it) until an appointed

time. In the book of Revelation the tree of life is given twelve fruits and we

are told that whoever partakes of the tree will gain life everlasting:

 

Then he showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing

from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the

city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds

of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the

healing of the nations. There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne

of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship him; they

shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads. And night shall be

no more; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their

light, and they shall reign for ever and ever. And he said to me, " These words

are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets,

has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place. And behold, I

am coming soon. " Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.

(Revelation 22:1-7)

 

So we see that the tree of life is to be explained at the time of the second

coming of Christ. "

[Here then is John's account of an angel showing him things]:

 

" And I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and

saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.

And he said to me, " Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours, and of your

brethren the prophets, and of those who heed the words of this book; Worship

God. " (Revelations 22:8-9)

 

[What the angel revealed to John about the subtle energy system within human

beings, was obviously not common knowledge at that time, or the angel wouldn't

have had to reveal it! However, we know what it means today! The angel had

revealed to John about the Kundalini, which is (the River of the Water of Life),

about Sushumna Nadi, which is (in the middle of its street) and about the Ida

Nadi and Pingala Nadi, which are the channels for the flow of energy (on either

side of the River)... all of which are part of the Subtle Energy System (Tree of

Life) within human beings!]:

 

" And he [the angel] showed me a River of the Water of Life, clear as crystal,

coming from the Throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street and

on either side of the river was the Tree of Life bearing twelve kinds of fruit,

yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing

of the nations. And there shall no longer be any curse; and the Throne of God

and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His bond-servants shall serve Him; and they

shall see His face, and His name will be written on their foreheads. "

(Revelations 22:1-4)

 

[There is a very interesting correspondence between the angel revealing to John,

about the " twelve kinds of fruit " and Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi telling Sahaja

Yogis about the " twelve Deities " , which in each case, arise through the

innervation of the Human Subtle System or " Tree of Life " that is within us]:

 

What Shri Mataji told Sahaja Yogis:

 

" You’ve all the " twelve Deities " there, working for you, so realising it, is the

meaning that you must have complete faith in yourself. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala

Devi – Puja Talk – Margate, England – 08/10/89)

 

What the Angel revealed to John:

 

" In the middle of its street and on either side of the river was the Tree of

Life bearing " twelve kinds of fruit " , yielding its fruit every month; and the

leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall no

longer be any curse; and the Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and

His bond-servants shall serve Him; and they shall see His face, and His name

will be written on their foreheads. " (Revelations 22:1-4)

 

[As the angel revealed to John, and as Shri Mataji taught Sahaja Yogis, the

'Twelve Kinds of Fruit' or the 'Twelve Deities', are for the healing of the

nations. They are for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being

of every person]:

 

" SAHAJA YOGA " is the science of our subtle human body, which explains how the

very desire of being united with God is 'built-in' within human beings as the

" KUNDALINI SHAKTI " [Power of the Holy Spirit] which creates them. Our human body

is created in the form of Virat, The Great Collective Being [also known by

Christians as the 'Body of God']. The various aspects of Deity are also

'built-in' within the human body. These manifest in the form of the nervous

systems (Nadis or channels, that is, the network of energy flow) and Chakras

(wheels, the subtle centers of energy). These deities control the organs, the

vital functions, physical, mental, emotional and the spiritual well-being of

every person. The Chakras represent the different stages of human evolution and

each shines forth the particular qualities of the Virat. On each Chakra, resides

the controlling Deity who incarnated to manifest those qualities of the

Collective (The Virat). "

" Each of the seven chakras has several spiritual qualities. These qualities are

intact within us, and even though they might not always be manifest, they can

never be destroyed. When the Kundalini is awakened, these qualities start

manifesting spontaneously and express themselves in our life. Thus, through

regular meditation, we become automatically very dynamic, creative, confident

and at the same time very humble, loving and compassionate. It is a process

which starts to develop by itself when the Kundalini rises and starts to nourish

our chakras. "

[When the Kundalini rises, the ('Twelve Deities' as Shri Mataji calls it) or the

('Twelve Kinds of Fruit' as John wrote about it) are awakened in us, as

evolutionary spiritual forces, which in turn are responsible for the spontaneous

manifestation of the spiritual qualities within us. The Bible lists some of

these spiritual qualities]:

 

" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. " (Galatians 5:22-23a)

 

[shri Mataji Nirmala Devi says that Wisdom itself becomes activated in us, when

the Deities are with us]:

 

" Wisdom itself is active, because the Deities are with you, and whatever happens

to you, they are before you. Nobody can harm you, nobody can touch you. You are

so protected that [if] anyone tries to harm you, immediately there is a

protection. Also your own protection is there, as I said, that [happens because]

you jump into thoughtless awareness. " (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Diwali Puja

[in Proverbs, it is said, that nothing compares to this Wisdom, which is the

'Tree of Life' within the person]:

 

" How blessed is the person who finds Wisdom, and the person who [therefore]

gains understanding. For Her profit is better than the profit of silver, and Her

gain [finer] than gold. She is more precious than jewels; and nothing you desire

compares with Her. She is a Tree of Life to those who take hold of Her and happy

are all who hold Her fast. (Proverbs 3:13-15;18)

 

[The Psalmist agrees]:

 

" And they will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water which yields

its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and in whatever they do,

they prosper. " (Psalm 1:3)

 

[The angel also revealed to John, that any curse [sin/karma] would be taken

away, as they Throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it!]:

 

" And there shall no longer be any curse; and the Throne of God and of the Lamb

shall be in it, and His bond-servants shall serve Him; and they shall see His

face, and His name will be written on their foreheads. " (Revelation 22:1-4)

 

[However, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi does warn that]:

 

" Once you get the realization, the 'Chiranjivas' surrender to you. They are

watching you. You are their responsibility. All the deities are awakened in you.

If you do anything against the deities, immediately they will harm you. [For

example], if a person who has got realization, goes to a place which is not to

be seen or which is not to be felt or which is not a good place, or to a fake

Guru, immediately he will feel heated up. If he does not run away and if he

still goes on, he will lose his vibrations and he will become like any other

ordinary person. (Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi - Advice NY 14)

 

" By the practice of " Sahaja Yoga " the great energy (Shakti) is swakened in you

and you achieve " Self-realisation " which is the ultimate aim of human existence.

Without this, the meaning of life is incomplete and its purpose is lost. So it

is the duty of every body to get self-realisation in this lifetime and free one

self from great illusion, ignorance and diseases in this modern times. " Sahaja

Yoga " is a unique discovery. It is a technique to lead oneself into the next

stage of evolution. It is not just a philosophy or another spiritual revival,

but is a practical way to become aware of the Divine, which you might have heard

of, but never known earlier. It is not a religious mumbo-jumbo but an actual and

verifiable scientific method to prove the existence of the All-pervading power

of God. You feel this power in your central nervous system after

self-realisation. Many people have already felt it. As a rational human being

you may also try and benefit yourself. The immense benefits of " Sahaja Yoga "

start manifesting in you immediately after you achieve self-realisation. You

become relieved from all tensions of life. All your problems get solved and you

little area to the vast area, which has no bounds!]:

 

" Now it is high time to jump from that little area to the vast area, which has

no bounds. And once that happens, you will be surprised that all these petty

little problems will drop out, in the ocean of greatness. Don’t indulge into

them, and leave them in the hands of the tree, so that all your small petty

problems will be looked after by that nourishing force. Because you belong to a

tree of great wisdom... a tree of great sustenance and religion... and a tree of

great mastery... such a great mastery, that you can never know how great it is!

You belong to a tree that has complete security for you and you belong to a very

great tree that gives you complete witnessing of the drama and which gives you

understanding that the Whole is a part and parcel of you, and that you are also

" Kundalini is the desire of God. It is not the desire " for God " ; it is the

desire " of God " itself. So it can only be awakened by that desire " of God "

within you that is being blessed. And the desire of God is the Shakti [power of

the Holy Ghost]. The desire of God is that He loves you and His desire is to

give you all His powers and all His loving capacity. This is His desire. It is

placed within you [in the sacrum bone] and is dormant, so when it rises, His

desire is fulfilled. And that is how you get your fulfilment. " (Shri Mataji

" So you belong to the great ocean of love and generosity. So this great Tree of

Life has everything integrated within itself! This is the Tree of Life that has

been described in the Bible, the ‘tree of fire’ they call it. Now you have to

become One with it. You are blessed by it. You are loved by it. You are gently

guided by it. It’s so gentle that you do not even feel the guidance; it’s like a

leaf, which silently falls on the ground. Try to identify yourself with that

power. That is what you are! Like the meaning of the word is identified with the

word, like the moonlight is identified with the moon, like the sunlight is

identified with the sun [in that way] let the identification be that Oneness,

that Integration, that you become the Light of God’s Love, that people will know

God through your depths and your fruits. It is the most fulfilling job, the

highest paid in every way, the most satisfying, energy-giving and dynamic. You

don’t have to give up anything - just be organised in the light of your Spirit! "

" A new age has now started, which is called the Age of Aquarius; (Khumba)

meaning the pitcher carrier of spiritual holy water, that is the work of

Kundalini. The activity of the Kundalini is like the sap of the tree that rises

and nourishes all the parts of the tree and does not get stuck at one flower.

Moreover these are special times! This is the Resurrection Time. The Last

Judgment is done by the Kundalini! On the fingertips, one can feel oneself and

can judge oneself. Moreover, the all-pervading power has become very activated,

so that the Kali Yuga ([Modern Times) is passing into the Krita Yuga of Brahma

Chaitanya (activated all-pervading power). This is helping the en-masse

enlightenment and self realisation. After this will be Satya Yuga (Age of

Truth). We have to take advantage of this activity of the Brahma Chaitanya by

always correcting oneself with the all-pervading power and achieving our

realisation and establishing it. After such a state, a person becomes very

dynamic and compassionate. His race, sex, nationality and age do not hamper his

" We see all these beautiful flowers and trees and fruits, and all kinds of

living work happening, all kinds of seasons changing, and we do not even think:

" Who does all these things? " There is the all-pervading Divine power of love,

also called Ritambhara, which does all these miraculous things, which we take

for granted and never even think about it.

 

When the Kundalini rises, She pierces through the fontanelle bone area and

connects us to this all-pervading power of Divine love, which is doing all the

living work for which we do not need to pay. We are not obliged and in no way do

we even think about it. Thus, this vital power starts flowing within our being

and all our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems are solved, as

" She [the Holy Spirit/Divine Mother Within] is a Tree of Life to those who take

hold of Her and happy are all who hold Her fast. " (Proverbs 3:18)
