Here is a very frank and delightful quote from Shri Mataji on marriages in SY.

It might help to dispel some misperceptions that people have had.

" And if you really do not want to marry someone you must tell Me. There's no

force in this place, you see. I mean I am not going to gain anything by your

marriages or [anything like] that. Why should I force you to marry anyone?

There's no logic in it. It's just I'm trying to help you to adjust, because you

were so far away from each other, just to find out what's your height, what's

your education qualifications what's your background and all that. Accordingly,

we tried to arrange something, but if you don't like it, just say no, plainly

no! There's no insult or anything. It's not a Divine decision. No, it's

something very gross, because I have judged you on your qualifications and

everything. So don't think you'll lose your vibrations if you say no, please,

because then I'll feel very hurt! Then you [will] see somebody and you [will]

know that person. That's why I've given you a chance to know each other here,

very well. But if you don't like something, just tell Me frankly, not to

hesitate. You should not be afraid of Me. I don't think I look that horrible! "
