Guest guest
Dear All, Here is the first part of a series on what Shri Mataji gave about Christ, Conditioning, and the Ego. Enjoy! violet Christ, Conditioning, and the Ego - Part 1 It was a great day when Christ came on this earth, and you know about how he was specially created to come down as a human being, to work out this salvation of the people. It is said that he came to India in Cashmere and he met there the king, Shalivahan: http://www.newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IEE20051107033706 & Page=E & Title=Start\ rek & Topic=0. This is all in Sanskrit. I read that the conversation took place between Christ and King Shalivahan who was a great devotee of the Mother, and he asked him: " What is your name? " in Sanskrit. So he said: " I come from a country where people believe in filth and I think this is my own country. " So Shalivahan said: " You are such a great person, who has come on this earth so you should go back to those countries, to save them and tell them about the pure principle of life. " In Sanskrit, it was written as " Nirmala Tattwa " , and Christ went back, and after three and a half years only, he was crucified. These were special days. I call them the days of " tapasya " . In those times Buddha and Mahavira were born at the same level of the Virata, the forehead. As you know, according to the Vedas there are seven centers of awareness. We can go through all the subtle qualities that we have within ourselves. The first one was the " bhou " who is Ganesha's creature. The second is " bouhara " , meaning 'all that is created around us'. The third one is " swaha " , the nabhi chakra. Swaha is the one who can consume everything. In modern times you see that people go on consuming everything. All kinds of books they will read. They go to all kinds of things; to 'acid' if you tell them. Why do you do it; what's wrong?! Why do you dress up like this; what's wrong?! This consumption of everything just goes on! But then there is another great thing within us that is called " swadha " , by which we sustain the dharma within us. There is the 'swadha dharma' of everything. You see those people who say there is a 'blind faith' and this and that. It is not 'blind' but it is an 'inner urge'. Why do we love our parents? Because there is a dharma within us. Why do we live within our country? Because there is a dharma within us. Why does a wife love her husband? Because there is dharma. Why does a husband love his wife? Because there is dharma. All these dharmas are there! When this dharma is within you, you're not a 'tainted' religion, which can mean something else. This dharma is sustained directly, once it is attained within ourselves and becomes 'swadha'. That is our capacity; that is our quality. We can call it an 'innate understanding', some of which is even in the animals - such as attachment to their parents, attachment to their masters. Then comes the higher awareness where you are 'manas', a short mind. There are many confusions, a big confusion of the mind. The English language can be quite confusing. 'Manas' means: " by which we have emotions " . Recently I read that they are now talking not only about IQ (Intelligence Quotient), but about EQ (Emotional Quotient). EQ means the 'emotional co-efficient'. That means a person who has only intelligence, is not alright. He must also have the balance of emotions. They are coming to it now, but at first they only used to place people with the IQ which is not the situation. Now it is different. Perhaps they are now realising, how through intelligence people have created chaos, violence and all kinds of destruction on this earth. So now they are talking about a higher capacity within us, called the EQ which capacity is emotional. This emotional capacity comes to you as an inner urge, as an inner capability, which cannot be awarded by someone. A person may be anything in life, but if he has no love, if he hasn't got any emotional feelings, then he is not complete. Now these emotional things could also be very limited, no doubt! There could be something which gets attached to somebody, or something can also happen with the IQ where we get attached to some ideas like Hitler had some ideas - believing it was the truth and he had to do it. So when you get attached to one idea like that, you can just do things which are not helpful at all to the support and nourishment of reality. All these things, such as the destructions of war, have happened. Also, as you see nowadays, people are secretly trying to destroy others. All these are coming as " anti-feeling " , where the 'manas' have developed a domination of the intelligence - where the emotions are dominated by intelligence and rationality. So there is another awareness within us, another capability within us, another 'earth' within us, which is innately built. It is the 'jana'. The " jana " means 'the people, the communication'. You cannot live alone. You see a man who goes to jail is quite happy, quite comfortable, no work to do, everything is done for him, he has a 'good class', lives very well; much better than he would outside - but the only thing is, he cannot meet other people! He cannot communicate! And when this capacity of communication, which is part of a person of human existence is taken away, they feel absolutely frustrated and unhappy! They don't mind labouring and doing all kinds of menial work, as long as they are not in the jail that is cut off from communication with others! So this communication is also an inner urge within us. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Christmas Puja Ganapatipule, India 24 December, 1995
