Dear All,

We concluded Part 7 with:

" Thanks to Buddha, Mahavira and Christ, they are the ones that are trying to

pull us away from this kind of rationality, because you have to cross that. All

your limitations are because of this kind of thinking and conditioning. We have

to go beyond that, because by this rational kind of thinking, what do we do? We

move into a denial and then there is no truth in it anymore! So the whole thing

boomerangs and then you are finished. We have to go beyond this 'mind'. We must

understand this 'mind'. Christ has done this [i.e. opened the Narrow Gate]

http://www.adishakti.org/subtle_system/agnya_chakra.htm so that we can go beyond

our mind. If you don't know how to go beyond this mind, just sit down for a

meditation - just work it out. "

Christ, Conditioning, and the Ego - Part 8

With this kind of mind, all kinds of things can come. Temper will come, intrigue

will come, jealousies will come. All the six enemies that we have come to us

through this kind of mind, through rational thinking. Everything can be

rationalised: 'Why did you murder your wife?' " Because I hatred her. She was

this. She was that. " 'But you cannot murder!' 'Why did you murder your husband?'

" Because of this, because of that. "

Because of your mind, you start doing things which are absolutely wrong, which

are sinful. Then you try to rationalise [what you did], go against Agnya [Narrow

Gate], against reality, and then use your conditioning and ego to explain why

you did it. When we are always doing like that, we can never go beyond. We are

so self-satisfied, thinking no end of ourselves. Now, how are we going to get

out of that?: " Introspection " . ---- But it is very difficult to introspect

because people are very afraid of themselves. They don't want to introspect.

When they start introspecting, they will know how sinful they've been, what

wrong things they've done and then they'll hate themselves for it. So they don't

want to introspect. But it is very important that we should introspect. That

introspection is very helpful for you, to overcome these two hurdles of your

agnya chakra.

I have told you many times: " Don't argue with anyone " . Because the other fellow

is asking for an argument. He is the one who has lots of ego. And that ego is

acting on you. So action-reaction starts and we don't [want to] have a habit of

reacting to it. Especially in the West I have seen they react to everything;

everything. For example, now this thing is spread out here. Well, they will have

nothing to do with it, but they could have had better: " Why is it so thin? " Well

you pay for it now! " ---- or ---- " You do it! " They are walking across and they

need some seats. This man, the sort of person he is, if '3' is bigger, then they

will start criticizing. They will criticize everything in common. They will

criticize everyone...... " What about yourselves? Are you sure? But why don't you

do something about that? If you can't help, if you are not going to do anything

about it, why react? " And this is the worst habit that we have developed. It is

to react. That we think we have every right to everything is not proper. You

have no authority to react. It is to that extent. You have to just witness it,

witness the whole thing. Once you start witnessing, you'll be amazed that you

will start seeing the play of the Maya [the play of Illusion] as they call it -

and you will see where you stand in it. Witnessing will be developed. All the

time, witness. Now, I'm witnessing many people. I have a very good memory

because I'm all the time witnessing. Everything is recorded within Me like a

picture - and then when I have to say something or have to correct something,

all that I have witnessed comes to help.

First of all, we should not react. React or anything. Some people are attached

to money and if they react, they will not give any money. They'll keep all the

money for themselves. In Sahaja Yoga it happens. I've seen people, very miserly

people and other ones, who try to please others. Then they'll waste their money

on lavish things, for nothing at all. It's only to waste it.

Reaction can come through anything. Seeing something, you can react. You can

become so engrossed in it that you don't realise you're wasting all your brain

energy on nonsensical things. The reaction comes when you've lost a complete

sense of judgement. You don't know what you're losing and what you're leaving by

such a reaction. Such reaction is going to destroy your inner being completely

[when] all the time you are here, there, there, and there. You're nowhere here.

If you are a very criticizing kind of person, try to stop it completely.

Criticize yourself [instead]. Direct that energy towards yourself: " Who am I to

criticize others? Who am I to react to anything? " ---- Put a challenge to

yourself and you'll see that your ego will subside.
