The Baptism of Jesus - Part 14 (the Conclusion)

Traversing the " straight

way " for highest

ascension in Spirit

(p.125) In deepest meditation, as practiced by those who are advanced in the

technique of 'Kriya Yoga', [1] the devotee experiences not only expansion in the

'Aum' vibration " Voice from heaven, " but finds himself able also to follow the

microcosmic light of Spirit in the " straight way " of the spine into the light of

the spiritual eye " dove descending from heaven. "

First, the life force and consciousness must be withdrawn from the senses and

bodily restlessness, and must cross the portals of Cosmic Energy represented by

the golden ring of the spiritual eye. then the consciousness must plunge in the

blue light representing Christ Consciousness. Then it must penetrate through the

silver star opening into Spirit, in the boundless region of Infinity. This

golden, blue, and silver light contains all the walls of rays--electronic,

atomic, and lifetronic--of Cosmic Vibration through which one has to penetrate

before one can reach heaven. [break Quote]

[Note]: Kriya masters describe the signposts of a deep meditation experience of

spiritual ascent, as going through what looks like a 'golden ring', 'blue

light', and 'silver star'. i have experienced these and other Sahaja Yogis must

have also, though they may not be consciously aware that they have. It is

something taught in Kriya Yoga and not in Sahaja Yoga. In Sahaja Yoga we are

happy to feel the Cool Breeze of the Holy Ghost and do not need to look for

other signposts of spiritual ascent along the way, as the Kriya yogis do. The

Cool Breeze of the Holy Spirit is the sure sign that we have entered the kingdom

of God, have touched the Sahasrara, if only with a few strands of our awakened

Kundalini to begin with. We begin our experience of Sahaja Yoga with Kundalini

awakening, so it is from Top-Down, which is a great advantage over Kriya Yoga or

any other yoga which all begin from the Bottom-Up. So they have to look for

particular signs of spiritual ascent, as they do not get the Cool Breeze of the

Holy Spirit to begin with, which has happened in Sahaja Yoga through the grace

of the Divine Mother opening up the Primordial Sahasrara and starting the epoch

of en-masse spiritual ascent, to speed up the spiritual evolution of humanity at

this precarious Time, which was prophesied would occur. Kriya yoga is not as

easy to get. It would be daunting to have to look for signs of spiritual ascent

such as what looks like a 'golden ring', 'blue light' and 'silver star' along

the way, even with the guidance of a Kriya Yoga guru. i think that if i had been

on the lookout for such 'signposts' of spiritual ascent, i would probably have

missed them, because to describe them hardly comes near the experience of them

which is not from an intellectual descriptive vantage point, but from one's

consciousness actually going through it. Going through what is described as a

'golden ring' is actually one's consciousness in the process of spiritual ascent

within the spiritual body, going through a most short tunnel in microseconds,

the shape of which tunnel of light can be described as a golden band of light.

My attention has been drawn to page 16 of the 'Sahaja Yoga Treatments' which

describes the Agnya Chakra as 'Gold'. This 'Gold' must be the same thing as the

'golden ring' that the Kriya Yoga masters refer to. It must be the 'Golden

Narrow Gate' of the Agnya Chakra, at which Narrow Gate Christ resides. The Kriya

masters then describe a 'blue light'. After emerging through the 'Golden Light'

i have experienced that immediately i am plunged into a 'blue light' which the

Kriya Yoga masters describe as representing the Christ Consciousness. Here the

consciousness feels liberated, expansive, cool and calm, but the consciousness

goes deeper and further, to the 'star' of the Spirit. All this happens really

quickly in a Sahaja Yogi. A Sahaja Yogi can reach the state of complete bliss in

the Sahasrara, losing complete identification with the physical body and feeling

the amazing expansiveness of their Spirit, like the whole universe is in that.

In Sahaja Yoga, Shri Mataji has recommended not to go by lights that may be seen

that are usually external to the Self, but to become that Light. That is why

what may be seen externally is not of importance to Sahaja Yogis as may be the

case in other Yoga traditions. What is important in Sahaja Yoga is 'becoming the

Light of the Spirit'. This conversation highlights that:

Sahaja Yogi: A very common egoistical trick, through Mother, is they get their

Realisation, then they take it away and think they can establish it in their own

way, using their old methods.

Shri Mataji: You see, you should say that just now you are at the foothills,

absolutely. Just now, this is the beginning and you don't really know how to

handle it. Now, to learn how to go further, you have to know about it, like

somebody having to know about [the possible dangers] of electricity, the sun, or

fire. It's better to know through experienced people how to handle it, what to

do. Because you [can] come into mistakes, and this advice is available. Of

course, you may learn gradually, but very slow and steady. But with this it

starts, it can move. That's all.

Sahaja Yogi: In relation to our development in Sahaja Yoga, I noticed that in

two of your recent lectures You've mentioned the flames of the chakras, and You

have said, you can see the flames. Now, if someone was to ask me if they would

come to see this in Sahaja Yoga, what should I say?

Shri Mataji: Well, you don't say anything [about it] in Sahaja Yoga. You should

say that people have seen it from the outside. We don't want to see the flames,

we want to become the flames ourselves! Alright?!

SAHAJA YOGI: Right.

Shri Mataji: You should say, you see it from the outside. These people used to

see them from the outside. They were not realised souls, some of them. And

Christ has said it because he himself was there, you see. It is a position

[within] that he said so. But you see, sometimes, flames around me, auras and

things.

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Excerpt, 'Darshan at Ashram Part 2', Sydney,

Australia, 25 March, 1981

[Resume Quote]:

In these highest states of meditation, the body itself becomes spiritualized,

loosening its atomic tenacity to reveal its underlying astral [or 'subtle']

structure as life force. The aura often depicted around saints is not

imaginative, but the inner divine light suffusing the whole being. (p.126) By

deeper meditation still, the astral [or subtle] body becomes elaborated into the

ideational body of consciousness. Then as pure wisdom the ideational

consciousness transcends the vibrations of the Holy Ghost and becomes immersed

in Christ Consciousness, through which it ascends to Cosmic Consciousness, the

bosom of God the Father.

This, then, is the real teaching of Jesus Christ who came to baptize with the

Holy Ghost. Only that person who can see his spiritual eye, not temporarily, but

always, and who can perceive through this eye the Omnipresent Spirit, can

baptize others with the cosmic magnetism of the Holy Ghost. Simply seeing the

light, or being able to show others the light of the spiritual eye, is not

enough. One must be able to perceive the Spirit through the spiritual eye. This

is the baptism given by John to Jesus, the 'diksha' given by a true guru who can

summon the Almighty Spirit to envelop the disciple with the Cosmic Magnetism.

The disciple, in turn, must be advanced and deserving in order to be able to

receive such a baptism in Omniscience by his advanced guru who is one with

Cosmic Consciousness, and thus serves as the channel of Spirit.

Through his two physical eyes, man sees only his body and a little portion of

the earth at a time. But spiritual baptism or initiation received from a true

guru expands the consciousness. Anyone who can see, as did Jesus, the spiritual

dove alight on him--that is, who can behold his spiritual eye of omnipresent

omniscience--and through perseverance in ever deeper meditation penetrate his

gaze through its light, will perceive the entire kingdom of Cosmic Energy and

the consciousness of God existing within it and beyond, in the Infinite Bliss of

Spirit.

Notes:

[1] A sacred spiritual science embodying techniques for withdrawal of life and

consciousness from the senses upward through the gates of light in the subtle

cerebrospinal centers, dissolving the consciousness of matter into life force,

life force into mind, mind into soul, and soul into Spirit. 'Kriya Yoga', an

ancient form of 'Raja ( " royal " or " complete " ) Yoga', is extolled by Krishna in

the Bhagavad Gita and by Patanjali in his 'Yoga Sutras'. As recounted in

'Autobiography of a Yogi', 'Kriya' was revived in this age by Mahavatar Babaji,

who ordained me to spread the liberating science worldwide. 'Kriya Yoga' is

taught to students of the 'Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons' who fulfill

preliminary spiritual requirements. (See page 1575.)
