> Dear participants of the Resurrection,

>

> Namaste - i bow to the Holy Spirit who resides in you!

>

> Entering the spiritual Kingdom of God is through rebirth by His

> Spirit and Water. Lord Jesus explicitly states that " unless one is

> born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of

> God. " The Saviour is clear of that two requirements, but adds a most

> essential third - that the self-verification of being born of the

> Spirit and water will be confirmed by the Wind (Cool Breeze)!

>

> " Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of

> the Jewish ruling council.

> He came to Jesus at night and said, " Rabbi, we know you are a

> teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the

> miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him. "

> In reply Jesus declared, " I tell you the truth, no one can see the

> kingdom of God unless he is born again. "

> " How can a man be born when he is old? " Nicodemus asked. " Surely he

> cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born! "

> Jesus answered, " I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom

> of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

> Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

> You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

> The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you

> cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with

> everyone born of the Spirit. " John 3:1-8

>

> The Gospels do not say much about Jesus baptizing his followers. The

> synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, & Luke) are silent about this

> subject. It is the Gospel of John that mentions what little is said

> about this issue, and it is inconsistent about the answer. It is

> clear that Jesus never baptized because entering the Kingdom of God

> was supposed to be a future event. It could not be understood or

> experienced without the Holy Spirit i.e., the Comforter!

'Doomsday' man baptises Kenya PM

Tuesday, 5 May 2009 11:20 UK

Born-again Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been baptised by a

self-proclaimed prophet known for his doomsday warnings.

He was immersed in a swimming pool in Nairobi by David Owuor, of the

National Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

The minister once foretold that half of Nairobi would be destroyed in

an earthquake, which never happened.

Mr Owuor told the BBC that Mr Odinga's unity government rival,

President Mwai Kibaki, had agreed to be baptised next.

Mr Odinga announced he had been born again on stage alongside Mr

Owuor during a mass prayer meeting in the Rift Valley town of Nakuru

last month.

On Sunday, a handful of journalists and evangelical Christians were

invited to attend the prime minister's baptism ceremony at a private

residence in the capital.

Mr Odinga said afterwards: " The Lord works in mysterious ways His

wonders to perform and I'm very happy that the man of God has

received me and has blessed me. "

Mr Owuor told the BBC that although the prime minister had already

been baptised as an Anglican Christian, it was better to be fully

immersed during the ceremony in the same way as was Jesus.

He added: " The next step is [Mr Odinga is] going to meet the

president to discuss with him the date and they're going to call me

into this meeting and the president will receive the Lord, will be

baptised.

" Today is a major step, a major advancement towards peace in this

country because Kenya is on the way out of the woods. "

The BBC's Wanyama wa Chebusiri in Nairobi says many people are

wondering if Mr Odinga's baptism could breathe a new, perhaps divine,

life into the fractious coalition government.

It was formed in February to end post-election violence - that left

some 1,500 people dead - which Mr Owuor also claims to have foretold.

However, the unity administration has become increasingly frayed of

late amid claims by Mr Odinga that he is being sidelined by President

Kibaki.
