Guest guest
Dear all, My mother is a catholic and prays the rosary everyday. I was curious as to the origins of the rosary, as I was told it was told to one of the little girls who saw Mother Mary at Fatima. Has Shri Mataji every talked about the rosary or anything about the " hail Mary " prayer? As I think about it now it seems more like something the church thought up, due to it's content and what we know about the " born sinners doctrine " the church is built around, then something Mary Mahalaxshmi would say. Any insights would be very helpful. Thank you Kyyan( Krishna)
Guest guest
Dear Krishna and all, Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia regarding the Marian (Shri Mary) apparitions, and Wikipedia also gives a bit of a history on the rosary: " The need to pray the rosary and its power has been reported in Marian apparitions for centuries. As a recent example, in the reported messages of Our Lady of Akita, Sister Agnes Sasagawa stated that in 1973 she was told by the Virgin Mary: " Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. " In 1988 Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI) gave definitive judgement on Our Lady of Akita messages as reliable and worthy of belief.[51] The rosary was also prominently featured in the Lourdes apparitions in 1858, where Saint Bernadette Soubirous stated that in the initial meeting of Our Lady of Lourdes: " The Lady took the rosary that she held in her hands and she made the sign of the cross " . The apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima are sometimes also called Our Lady of the Rosary because the children related that the Lady in the apparition specifically identified Herself as " the Lady of the Rosary. " The three children at Our Lady of Fátima stated that the Lady asked them to say the Rosary every day, reiterating many times that the Rosary was the key to personal and world peace. She had also asked that it be prayed every day, and that its mysteries be meditated on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosary In 'A Collection Of Prayer and Praise' by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, on page 14 it says the prayer to Shri Mary: HAIL MARY HAIL MARY, FULL OF GRACE THE LORD IS WITH THEE, BLESSED ART THOU AMONGST WOMEN AND BLESSED IS THE FRUIT OF THY WOMB, JESUS. AMEN. Shri Mataji has clearly told us that she is the incarnation of Mother Mary. A fuller prayer/praise of the Holy Mother is given on page 15 in 'A Collection of Prayer and Praise', which says: OUR HOLY MOTHER OUR HOLY MOTHER, RESIDING EVERYWHERE HOLY IS YOUR NAME. TRULY YOU ARE NIRMALA [iMMACULATE] AND THE THREE WORLDS SING YOUR FAME. YOU ARE MAHASHAKTI, YOU ARE KALKI YOURS IS THE LAST JUDGMENT. YOU ARE THE CREATOR AND THE PRESERVER, TO DESTROY THE EVIL YOU CAME. YOU ARE THE TEACHER, YOU ARE THE KNOWLEDGE YOU ARE THE LITERATURE TO UNDERSTAND THE KNOWLEDGE. YOU ARE THE POETRY, YOU ARE THE LITERATURE YOU ARE THE SPEECH, YOU ARE THE SILENCE. YOU ARE THE SUN, YOU ARE THE MOON YOU ARE THE STAR THAT SHINES IN THE DOOM YOU ARE THE LIVING, YOU ARE THE LIFE AND YOU ARE THE EARTH THAT BEARS LIFE. YOU ARE JOY, YOU ARE HAPPINESS AND THE ONE WHO PRAYS TO YOU RECEIVES ETERNAL HAPPINESS. THE MOTHER OF LORD GANESHA, KARTIKEYA AND JESUS ARE YOU. O MOTHER ACCEPT US SAHAJA YOGIS AS YOUR CHILDREN TOO. OUR HOLY MOTHER, RESIDING EVERYWHERE HOLY IS YOUR NAME. HOLY IS YOUR NAME.
