Guest guest
And he said to them, " Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, in order that I may preach there also; for that is why I came. " (Mark 1:38) And Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. And the news about him went out into all Syria; and they brought to him all who were ill, taken with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and he healed them. And great multitudes followed him from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan. (Matthew 4:23-25) (p.429) Jesus could not confine his preaching to one locale only. In the short span of his mission on earth, he went from place to place within the domain of the Israelites, so designated by God as the birth center of his special dispensation--to draw true souls from the crowds. His precious time could not be given to the superficial appeasing of the multitudes only. Real souls are rare and hard to find, and it was in them he could plant the seeds of his future continuing harvest. His message was universal; his teachings were destined to spread among all spiritually needy peoples, irrespective of caste, creed, or race. He came from the Spirit to give his message to all children of the Spirit. That is what is meant by: " That is why I came.
