A heavy rush of devotees was reported from various famous temples including Sree Padmanabaswamy, Sreekanteswara and Attukal Baghavati here, as well as the Sree Krishna temple at Guruvayur, Chottanikara Baghavati temple and Saraswati temple at Panachikkad, popularly known as 'Dakshina Mookambika. Vidyarambham began in many temples and institutions as part of Vijayadasami. Vidyarambham began at the Mookambika Temple in Panachikkad early morning itself. A heavy rush is witnessed here and till 2 pm children will be initiated into the world of letters.
