VEDA RAKSHATHI RAKSHITHAM Our humble request to Asthika friends:- Vedas are our Treasure and ever lasting. Bharat Varsha (Kandh) is so proud because of Vedas which is a known fact to every one of us. Every Asthika' s duty is to learn and practice Vedas to attain eternal bliss. In these days many of us are not able to learn and practice Vedas due to various reasons. During Maha Kumbh Mela 2001, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swsamigal took note of paucity of learned and well versed Purohits/Pandits in and around the City of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, and with his blessings, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya Vedic Samskar Shiksha Kendram (Ved Patasala) was established in Lucknow in the year 2001with the avowed aims of teaching all aspects of Vedas over a period of five years batch to eligible students free of cost by providing them shelter, food, clothes and meeting other incidental expenses and thereby spreading Sanathana Dharma. As is known, such a noble endeavor requires financial assistance from all Asthika s so as to make the venture an on-going one. At present the Ved Patasala has a student strength of 40 besides teaching/non-teaching staff and the expenses for housing/feeding/clothing these students comes to Rs.1000/= at the rate of Rs.750/= per student per month. We therefore earnestly appeal to well wishers and Asthika s like you to make liberal contributions for running the Ved Patasala on an on-going basis. We are willing to perform Shrartham of ancestors/Pithrus and one- time feeding of students on the `thithi' specified by you, for which you may kindly remit a sum of Rs.1500/= or above.
