Guest guest
Hi all i was in Kollur on 3rd and 4th of this month. Just reached kannur few hours before by Madras mail which starts from Mangalore at 1.15 pm.Reached mookambika from bangalore via shimoga 11 hour journey. Visited Kodachadri inspite of heavy rain and Fog. visibilty was too low as Fog type Cloud was being formed around us during the 2 Km trekk towards " Sarvajna Peedam " on top of the peak. On the way also visited a Ganapathi cave almost half way during the trekk.Could not reach chitramoola caves due too poor weather conditions (also few adventure was suspended due to this ). But the beauty around the Hill was Excellent.Had tea inside one of the Brahmin " s house down hill on kodachdri peak.( Started of at 9.30 am and returned at 2.30 pm).Only two of us walked towards " Sarvajna Peedam " while others rested down the Kudachdrei temple due to unwelcoming weather conditions on top But had a safe return due to grace of godess mookambika and a " Dream come true " Made friends during journey as most of them shared thier nostolgic family stories " Sarvajna Peedam " is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen .Wish to make a visit to chitramoola next time which is around 1 km down hill from Sarvajna peedam " As per the Brahmin at Kodachadri the actual installation of goddess staue was done by saptharishis in Himalyas. The same was a part of Hill carried by hanuman to lanka for sanjeevani for sri ram . Later sri ram asked him return the hill back to its place A Part of it fell down on Kodachadri along with the divine power of goddess on return journey. Later Kolamaharshi and Shankaracharya found her presence on the hill top. *Athri, Brugu, agerasa ,Kutsa, Vasishta, Goutama, Kashyapa, were Saptharishis as per my knowledge. " Any one planing to visit Kodachadri can visit till the devi temple on hill top in jeep safely & the " trekk towards sarvjna peedam can be decided upon weather condition and enrgy level " Regards Sarath

Guest guest
Namaste, Glad to learn that you would like to visit Kollur. Try to reach Mangalore instead of Bangalore which will be much easier. Once in mangalore, you can catch a Luxury Coach from Mangalore to Kollur and the same coach returns the Next day back to Mangalore, or you can also Hire a taxi which will cost you around Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for a return Trip. Since you have a child with you i suggest a car as you can travel light and stop when ever you need to for food etc. The best place to stay is Sawparnika Guest house which is also close to the the Temple,as the Bus stops there and starts from there as well. The guest house is also close to the Sawparnika river where u can enjoy a dip before visitingthe Temple as most of us do as the water is considered to be holly too.But please bare in mind that if the rain is still around the River will flow too heavily. There are lot of Autos available incase it is still raining and you are not familar with the route . Wish you All the Best and have a Safe Journey. Guest guest
Hi All,I am also going to Kollur during september 10th to 13th. My plans are as follows, if any one who is interested wanted to do pooja. Please send me your name, natchtiram and address. I will do the pooja and sent you the prasadham by courier provided if you are in India.11th - 12th - Kollur Mookambika Temple13th - Chotinikara Bhagawathi TempleThis is the 5th continuous year I am travelling to Kollur that really doesn't matter. I feel happy I have got the grace to reach the temple atleast once in a year.I read somewhere about the combination of Chotinakara Bhagawati and Kollur Mookambika as follow:The combination of these two godess are the form of Shakti (Brave) and Knowledge. Also, when I was travelling I heard there is a story that these two godess are sisters and so on.Can anyone share the same thing in the group ? I would like to share a incident that usually happens when I plan to go temple. Although I will have the feeling to cry infront of the sanidhanam because of the normal problems in my life. But the happiness and rejoicement I get when I get into the temple is countless. Swear....I won't be able to cry. Also I won't feel like to pray that I want this and that.....Thanks,Ganeshbabitha70 <babitha70 Sent: Tuesday, August 22, 2006 4:56:19 AM Re: in Kollur on 3rd and 4th of this month Namaste, Glad to learn that you would like to visit Kollur.
