Guest guest
Dear friend, Hari Om. Pranams. As this is my first message, please allow me to introduce myself. I am a retired government official in India. Even while in service I was engaged in research and publication. I am a senior Editor and publisher by profession. My mission in life is to be instrumental in spreading knowledge on the Vedic spiritual and cultural heritage. Devotion to God is the only easy and effective way for Liberation in this Kali yuga. I am convinced that the entire humanity needs our devotional literature and value system and has a right to have them. With the emphasis on universal oneness and harmony, this knowledge of our devotional literature can immensely help the mankind live peacefully and prosperously. We have a moral obligation to share what we have inherited with others who are in need of it. I am actively engaged in projects of teaching and publishing connected with Vedic literature, including allied works. I am involved in the subjects of Vedic Astrology and Yoga also. Naturally I am interested in knowing about the work of other scholars and devotees and make a common cause wherever it means mutual benefit. My projects are not carried on with 'business' motive but I design them to be self- sustaining. I am not a very rich man to carry them on entirely as a charitable proposition. They are all no-loss-no- profit endeavors combined with 'service overtone'. I am aware of various schools of thought competing with one another; but my view is that all of them can co-exist and help mankind to achieve material and spiritual welfare, if they do not miss to notice the presence of the one and only common bond called differently by different groups. Nitya Kalyan We have a duty to mankind to share what we have inherited in the form of rich Vedic and allied literature with all the people in the world. This is best done by explaining them in English. A new international English monthly magazine Nitya Kalyan is to be published from Chennai. This magazine is committed to the spread of knowledge of Indian cultural heritage and ancient wisdom. It is a matter of urgent necessity that the ideas of universal oneness and harmony enshrined in the Vedas and allied literature are explained in English, to ensure the peace and prosperity of the mankind threatened by several negative forces of the modern world. Nitya Kalyan is committed to accomplish this. This is a no-profit-no-loss effort. The first issue of Nitya Kalyan will appear in the second week of September 2004. Nitya Kalyan, the international English monthly magazine is dedicated to integrate our happy day-to-day life with well-defined purusharthas viz., dharma, artha, kama and moksha, enshrined in our scriptures. Nitya Kalyan stands for eternal happiness and also the means leading to it. Eternal happiness is not an idle dream that becomes real accidentally to a select few. Vedic philosophy does not believe in any such silly imagination. The foundation for the Vedic philosophy is the concept of dharma that is, natural and value-based expression of self. A serious student of the Vedic philosophy can never miss how result- oriented the Vedic philosophy is. The Vedas belong to everybody, irrespective of caste, creed or color. They are the inheritance of all the living beings. The Vedic concepts may be studied and appreciated by us through the various sastras, puranas, ithihasas and countless other forms of literature, including Yoga Sutra. The study and practice of these values are possible to one and all. Even a villager without much formal education can understand and adopt them. Our ancient systems ensured such percolation of knowledge among all the categories of the people. With the weakening of our ancient systems and adoption of western ways of life, this flow of knowledge has been adversely affected. As a result, the value-based life of our people is changing to mere mammon worship. Our ancient system does not neglect any aspect of life, including wealth and other normal pleasures of life. But they were strictly subordinated to the dharma, so that the individual would not degenerate and become a knave; so that, his kalyan would not be short-lived but would be eternal. Guest guest
Dear Sir, Pranams. I am a very sorry to see the message of Mr Krishnan. I am organizing a magazine for popularising our devotional literature all over the world, as a no-profit-no-loss endeavor, with the blessings of highly devoted persons. If I give the details of this magazine to the devotees of Muruga, is it business gimmics? Or else, to whom I should give such details? I am talking about a medium which is dedicated to be instrumental for Murgan karunai also. Is it not relevant? Devotion cannot be measured. The fundamental spiritual lesseon is not to rush to judge other person's devotion. Maybe Shri Krishnan is more devoted than I am. But let him think for a moment that behind my efforts also, there is some devotion to God. At this age, if I am organizing a devotional magazine for the benefit of English-speaking world, I do not think it can be without the Grace of Murugan. Anything and everything under the Sun, can be brought under the category of 'business', But one should have the context in mind. My intention is not to prove anybody wrong. But, with great respect to Shri Krishnan, I am within my limits to say that I have not done anything out of place. There is absolutely no business gimmics in my effort. I would have gladly submitted this message to the moderator, if it had been stipulated like that. If it is His (Dhandapani's) will, let the wish of Shri Krishnan prevail. At least I have that much spirit of dedication and detachment in me. With kind regards, K S Venkataraman prkrishnan1942` krishnan <prkrishnan1942 wrote: dear devotees of muruga with ref to the mail from venkataraman it seems to be an advertising gimmics.the group platforms are used for some businees.such mails should not be allowed.the motive of the mail is to give publicity to the magazine nitya kalyan rather than discussing about murugan karunai or other allied matters muruga saranamvenkataramanks7 <venkataramanks7 wrote: Dear friend,Hari Om.
