Guest guest
NOTE : THIS IS NOT A JUNK Dear Mr. Venkataraman, The reason why I am writing this message is the reason behind me asking you not to have posted the advertisement rates (although giving the subscription details were OK). You seem to be from somewhere in TamilNadu (Kumbakonam / Tanjore ..). And the people who burst into flames seem to be those from North (South Indians settled in North India). And when you make it to the North for the first Time, you really are not aware of viley gimmicks cheats play on you. Here are some of them - 1) " This is done in the service of God, service of humanity ... please be charitable - god will bless you and your family " <asks for 100 rupees or so> 2) " This is a 100% non-commercial activity - we are undertaking it in the name of god " 3) Even though this is taking place in the name of god - He (Rama / Krishna / ...) sends people like you to carry out these activity " . 4) Spells out incredibly unbelieveble rates for whatever they sell and tells this is service of humanity, customer satisfaction and so on. and when you proceed to buy it, the real stuff opens up this tax + this tax + this rates + this and that charges for some paltry product. There are more - but you could notice how you message had almost all of the above points? I am not referring you You. Please do not mistake me. Now how do you expect a person, who has been cheated , or has his friends / relatives cheated, or is aware of such cheating (on a regular basis), react to a message which neatly fits into the description of a cheating? Quite normally flame and throw an array of what could possibly called insults and disgrace. Another thing is that, even if a honest person came up and asked / announced such " Dharma Kaariyam " (like performing some pooja in Temple on 'n' occassion), the first thing that sparks in the mind of the public is suspicion unless they really know the person well, because of being cheated in the past (or awareness of such low-lives). But I guess, He knows whom to send where for the right reason? Did you know that during the markazhi month, in many areas, the Ayappa dharmam is really a business? People dress up small children in black and send them with a pot. At the end of the day, the collection is taken to one central " Dada " , and these 'agents' are given commission. This is the truth, and it was published in the Papers (THE HINDU). Such is the misery of commercialisation of devotional / religious activities. So, there is nothing for flaming up (group discussions). As a moderator, I just said that (advertisements .. etc.), to avoid any further unwanted heating / fuming of discussions. Glad that you are at peace now. || Thiruchitrambalam ||
