Sorry. I seem to have omitted to mention some other important points.

 

Continuing from Purusha & Prakriti, Om is the sound (Brahman or Athman) operating thru' Air which is part of Prakriti (matter and also Nature).

 

Finally, the Narayaneeyam also states that all that is novel, new and beautiful is Lord Vishnu's qualities. So it can be concluded that the Pranava (Special + New) applies to Lord Vishnu.
