The Christian missionaries began this kind of devotion decades ago - propogation of Christianity thru' social service. So they built hospitals, hospices, schools etc. Your desire to not offend anybody's religious sentiments is in the true and glorious spirt of Hinduism. I can offer you some tips about how to go about your service goal, but its important to know your location - where you live. Because every country, town, city has got its own culture and its own system. And you should operate within that system in order to get the results in a very harmonious and yet effective way.
