Location:

When we move 8 kms in Pudukottai Trichy road, we can reach a cut road and on moving 2 kms in that road we can reach Thiru Vengai Vasal.

The Temple:

The temple is mainly a Sivan temple and the sivan here is called Vyagra Pureeswarar.

Here Muruga is in a form having Kulla in his head and is in the form of "Gnana Arut Kolam" having Sakrayudam in the hand instead of Vel.

Snake will normally be beneath the Peacock but here it is around the hip of Muruga and is called as Naga Abaranam. It is believed that Muruga this is one of the forms taken by muruga before he killed Sooran. And Beyond the head he has Chandraprabai. And this Murugan is believed to be the form of Sivan.

Hello mam,

Im taking all these details from my books collection and so i dont have links for such ones. And, some of the details of Arupadai Veedus are taken from the book "Muruganukku Ugandha Arupadai Veedugal" published by Little Flower Company. If possible get the book. Its really good.

Thank you.Raji Iyer <kavayyaar wrote:
