Guest guest
Hello , There exists a deity in mostly markandeya purana known as kaumari , which some how is related to Lord Kartikeya . I found some materials on the web regarding this deity at http://murugan.org/research/kaumari-iconography.htm . Some are saying skandha-puran and matsya-puran has also spoken about her but i do not know that . Some say kaumari and kumari & kannya- kumari are all one and the same. But as far as i know this deity sits over a peacock ( that is what her dyanam is saying). Many people worship her in many ways but i do not know the whole details of her except for the part she played in killing few demons (devi mahatyam) . Since there are few mantras available on the link i said above i expect there is a detailed mantra like stotra , kavacha, sahasranama or things of that kind for this deity . The statue of this deity is installed in a temple in between Chennai and Pondichery called " Adi Parashakti Temple " . So i thought naturally people from southern india will know more details about goddess kaumari since she is related to lord kartikeya. If some one can help me with , i will remain grateful.
