Guest guest
Dear Ms. Linda, Sorry for the delayed response. I was waiting for the others to reply. The idol of Lord Muruga at Pazhani is a unique one . It is made of NAVAPASHANAM. Nava means nine and Pashanam literally means poison. These when mixed together, acquire curative properties and are considered to be a wonder drug in Siddha Medicine.( Siddha medicine and practice, originated in India but the Chinese have now started practicing in a big way, as we are blissfully sleeping!!!) These nine herbs are: VEERAM, POORAM, RASAM, JATHILINGAM, KANDAGAM, GAURI PASANAM, VELLAI PASANAM, MRIDHARSINGH, SILASAT. Bogar, a siddhar is the most revered of the 18 siddhars. He was good in medicine . He combined 4448 rare herbs and made 9 poisonous medicines. He consulted Agasthiya - the Father of Ayurvedic medicines along with other sidddhars. He mixed the 9 poisons and made the master medicine in the form of Lord Muruga - DHANDAYUDHAPANI at Pazhani. Bogar and others concluded that by pouring milk and panchamritham on the idol , one can extract the medicine from the idol. Therefore the milk and the panchamritham becomes medicine to cure diseases. Hope i have answered your question Regards Lalethaa Ganesh. Send instant messages to your online friends http://in.messenger.
