Thiruppugazh: Glory to Lord Muruga

Dear Friends,

 

I have gone through the Dhandapani site. It is very interesting and

informative. Many learned members have contributed their ideas.

Going through the different messages I feel it is indeed a proud

privilege, a pleasure and an honour to be in the midst of Muruga

devotees.

 

Lord Muruga exerts His charm over millions of people. His name spells

success, victory, compassion, mercy and grace. He has various divine

qualities. He is Gjnanapanditha (One who is the source of all

knowledge). He is Velayudha, the Holder of mighty weapon, the Vel,

that protects all. He is Karunakara (who is full of kindness and

compassion). He is the embodiment of beauty. He takes different

roles; that of a master, a guide, a friend and even as a servant to

protect and grace the devotees. He is there always, guiding us,

inspiring us, prompting us and galvanising us to act.

 

Because of past Karmas (Theevinai) one may face trials and

tribulations in one's life. .

Arunagirinathar said in Kandhar Alamgaram: " Nal En Seyum, Vinaithan

En Seyum….. " . So long Muruga is there with all his ornaments and Vel,

no evil forces, not even my past Karmas can do any harm to me " .

Though many great saints like Nakkeerar and Sivachariyar have sung the

glory of Lord Muruga, the songs of Arunagirinathar remains as a magnum

opus, as a fitting expression of devotion and as an invaluable

treasure of knowledge.

 

I have had the fortune of writing a book " Thiruppugazh: Glory to Lord

Muruga " and highlight the glory of Arunagirinathar and of Muruga from
