Spiritual Stories: Post #16 "God Works for His Devotees"

 

Dear Members..

 

Good Morning !

 

This Sunday greets you with one of the shortest stories among those told by Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi. In fact few more weeks will see such short stories of few lines only. Though this story is short, it is a part of a bigger story relating Sundaramurthy Nayanar who considered Lord Siva as his friend (Sakha Margam). His experiences with Lord are sweetest, inspiring and enjoyable. I am attaching one of them along with this mail which was published in Sutti Vikatan as a Tamil Comic strip series.

 

 

Coming back to the reason for this story being short is that the point stressed here is God works for His devotees. I would be glad if someone can confirm where (in which place) this incident of God working in the field took place and about the festival being mentioned. For Him there is no lower or upper caste or class among His creations. He is All Merciful and Compassionate while remaining Nirgguna.

 

 

I don't know when that Vayaluran will make us experience those Leelas.

God Works for His Devotees

 

ON A PARTICULAR day in the year the God and the Goddess are taken to an adjoining field and the festival of the gods and goddess is celebrated. This is in memory of the fact that one day Sundaramurti Swami entered the temple and found to his dismay that neither God nor Goddess was there, and that on searching for them he found them in a field working at transplanting seedlings for a devotee, a Harijan.
