" There is a similar story, a little more amusing; which appeared in mountain path. It is as follows:- There was once a sadhu who was in very peaceful sitting in contemplation under a peepul tree. A villager passed the tree and could not just tolerate to see such a peaceful man. So he hurled a few rash words at the sadhu to provoke him. The sadhu silent. Seeing the sadhu silent, he was even more enraged and started absuing him. Some of the villagers gathered around and seeing them, seeing him in a pitiable position, his words now turned even more abusive and vulgar. The sadhu had also noticed the crowd arround him. The villager said " Dog " , the sadhu replied " Vadai " . Even more enraged, he said " Pig " , the sadhu said " Payasam " , then he said " Donkey " , the sadhu said " appam " and so on till the poor villager gave up and walked silently with his head low. The villagers were very amused and indeed very surprised. They asked " Swami, when he hurled abusive words at you you kept quite and instead said names of delicious food. Why? " The sadhu smiled and replied, " One has to swallow what one has said. I have to swallow vadai pasam ...., while he has to swallow what ever he has to utter. simple. " . The villagers were surprised and learnt a nice lesson.
