Hello All,

Just wanted to share snippets from an article in Ananda Vikatan (Tamil mag) dated 26th DEc 2007

page 116.

====================

A new Tamil animation movie is in the making. Title is " OM " and it tells the story of

Lord Murugan from birth till the conquest of demons headed by Soorapadman. is Vijaya Padma who is from the computer industry.

The looks of animated character Murugan is modelled after actor Sivakumar who portrayed

Murugan in the late sixties in the Tamil Movie " Kanthan Karunai " .

Soorapadman is modelled after PrakashRaj.

Sashti Kavacham is also present as a re-mix by popular singers.

The director says she wanted to make this after seeing the success of Harry Potter in Tamil Nadu.

Very interesting! Whenever I used to watch Superman, Batman, Matrix, current TV favorite called Heroes, I always saw how Western filmmakers can take totally irrational and absurd ideas to make a very highly successful film. Harry Potter is the best example of the most absurd idea (western concept of witches and black magic) woven into a very successful book and then a film! Lord of the Rings is another. I mean, we all know a Human cannot fly. Yet Superman sells! You look at Heroes and you'll see every character has got some special power, which is impossible in the rational world of humans. Yet, not only do these sell, but people dont even comment that such a trait is possible! Yet, our own

beliefs about gods who can fly, who can have any kind of form have been derided by many. I think that making an animation film about Murugan is a terrific idea! If it is produced and directed slickly, the script is done professionally, it can hit the box office! (I saw the TV serial called Baal Hanuman. The animations were very good, more like Disney style, but I wish the dialogues and direction were better) Vijaya Padma's is a great idea. Good Luck! I believe, there is no such thing called as fiction. Our imagination

is nothing but what the soul feels travelling beyond time and beyond

earth.

Super Man, Spider Man, Lord of Rings , Harry Potter etc are written by

the mind that is able to recollect and visualize but fail to hold the

exact situations.

Garuda is a bird man. Pretty much all Gandharva's are super men. I

wont attribute Gods or even the Deva's to superman or spiderman etc,

they are much more superior to the Super man theory. A super man for

Krypton (our superman - Mr.Kent in Krypton will be just another being)

could be termed close enough to Hanuman, just because the Avatar was

designed so.

Well, as anything in spiritualism, this could sound outrageous, but

think and correlate, you may find traces.

Be it, horcruxes of Voldemort or the Eye of Sauron, I believe they all

exist, somewhere in some astral or physical world, we can only

fictionalize.
