This temple is located in Thiruvarur District Nannilam circle ,one and

half kilometres west of Peralam village.Current Name : MeichurMainDeity : AruneswararGoddesses : LalithambigaiTheertham : Surya TheerthamArunan,Son

of Kashiba saint got deceived by Surya and Surya got cursed. Surya

repented his mistake and came to meichur and worshipped Lord to get rid

of his curse. As time passed by and still he couldn't get rid of his

curse, he Shouted "Hey Mikura" in disgust which inturn angered Goddess

Lalithambigai. But Shiva(aruneswarar) cooled Goddess and hence the name

Santha nayaki .The most powerful sloka , Lalitha sahasranamam Came

through Goddess herself.The other popular sloka Laitha navarathna maala

("Maatha jeya Ohm Lalithambigaiye" ) was written by saint agathiyar in
