Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! You have no idea how long I have been trying to get the words of this sloka! I'm surprised that hardly anyone has even heard of it!

How did I get to know of it? I heard it sung by Kalyani Menon on a very old audio tape, and liked it very much.

Again, Sir, Thank You Very Much!

This is a rather less known stotra. It is said to have been composed by Pramahamsa Swami Brahmamanda. To whome exactly this identity belongs is not known. I speculate that Paramahamsa Swami Brahmananda, the composed of this and a other stotras is none other than the former Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peetham between 1941 and 1953.

Dear Mr Sarma

I refer to your helpful input earlier (Ramapati Ashtakam) and again thank you for the same.

But I feel some words or some letters are missing. All slokas are very mathematically precise, and have a uniform structure. Eg. if Line 1 has got 8 syllables, then every corresponding line (eg. Line 3, 4, 5) will have 8 syllables. So these slokas can be put to music.

I got interested in this particular sloka because I heard being sung (not chanted), and its got rhythm. But in the first line, some word or lettering is missing because I heard the singer sing it with the full rhythm. Unfortunately, I'm unable to catch the missing item in the singer's delivery because its not very clear.

If possible, I shall appreciate your correction. Again, I thank you for your time and commitment.

Meanwhile, THAIPUSAM GREETINGS TO EVERY GROUP MEMBER AND YOUR FAMILIES!!--- On Thu, 1/8/09, R. ÅšivarÄmakṛṣṇa Å›armÄ <arunagirinathar wrote:
