Once a person met Lord

Krishna and said "I heard something about Your devotee and I am going to

tell You."

"Hold on a minute," Lord replied. "Before telling Me anything I'd like

you to pass it through Triple Filter Test"

Lord Krishna continued. The first filter is Truth. Have you made

absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the person said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

"All right," said Lord Krishna "So you don't really know if it's true

or not.

Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness.

Is what you are about to tell Me about My devotee something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So," Krishna said, "you want to tell Me something bad about him, but

you're not certain it's true.

You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left --

the filter of Usefulness.

Is what you want to tell Me about My devotee going to be useful to Me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," Lord Krishna concluded, "If what you want to tell Me is neither

true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to Me at all?"

____

Even if My devotee commits the most abominable actions, he is to be

considered saintly because he is properly situated. He quickly becomes

righteous and attains lasting peace. O son of Kunti, declare it boldly

that My devotee never perishes --Lord Krsna[bg 9.30-31]
