Knowledge as known to man today is mainly material knowledge, dealing with properties of matter and energy. The medical knowledge known to man is incomplete and improperly understood because most of this knowledge it has been arrived at by dissecting a dead body and not by studying a living body. The yogis had and still have the capability to understand what is happening within the body by the power of meditation, and they do not require doctors to diagnose their pains and illnesses. The modern society is made up of a system of dependence between the patient and the doctor, and governed mainly by money matters rather than the need to serve humanity.

Lord Krishna says the final words on what the different types of knowledge are, and what the object of knowledge really is. Today's so called intelligent people who simply aim at becoming filthy rich and puffed up in society do not know that Krishna is the real goal of all knowledge, and thus remain in utter ignorance despite their material position.

To know and to conclude and then to finally be established in the consciousness of KRISHNA as the OBJECT of all WORSHIP is real knowledge, all else is false and misleading.

pitaham asya jagato mata dhata pitamahah

vedyam pavitram omkara rk sama yajur eva ca (BG 9:17)

I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support, and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable om. I am also the Rg, the Sama, and the Yajur [Vedas].

sarva-bhutesu yenaikam bhavam avyayam iksate avibhaktam vibhaktesu taj jnanam viddhi sattvikam (BG 18:20)

That knowledge by which one undivided spiritual nature is seen in all existences, undivided in the divided, is knowledge in the mode of goodness.

prthaktvena tu yaj jnanam nana-bhavan prthag-vidhan vetti sarvesu bhutesu taj jnanam viddhi rajasam (BG 18:21)

That knowledge by which a different type of living entity is seen to be dwelling in different bodies is knowledge in the mode of passion.

yat tu krtsna-vad ekasmin karye saktam ahaitukam atattvartha-vad alpam ca tat tamasam udahrtam (BG 18:22)

And that knowledge by which one is attached to one kind of work as the all in all, without knowledge of the truth, and which is very meager, is said to be in the mode of darkness.

pravrttim ca nivrttim ca karyakarye bhayabhaye bandham moksam ca ya vetti buddhih sa partha sattviki (BG 18:30)

O son of Prtha, that understanding by which one knows what ought to be done and what ought not to be done, what is to be feared and what is not to be feared, what is binding and what is liberating, that understanding is established in the mode of goodness.

yaya dharmam adharmam ca karyam cakaryam eva ca ayathavat prajanati buddhih sa partha rajasi (BG 18:31)

And that understanding which cannot distinguish between the religious way of life and the irreligious, between action that should be done and action that should not be done, that imperfect understanding, O son of Prtha, is in the mode of passion.

adharmam dharmam iti ya manyate tamasavrta sarvarthan viparitams ca buddhih sa partha tamasi (BG 18:32)

That understanding which considers irreligion to be religion and religion to be irreligion, under the spell of illusion and darkness, and strives always in the wrong direction, O Partha, is in the mode of ignorance.

Therefore in current times, it is highly recommended to discard all types of irreligion, and even all types of false knowledge and false religious ideologies, and surrender simply to KRISHNA, chant HIS holy name AS INSTRUCTED BY THE SPIRITUAL MASTERS, and remain in His service. He has given us this way out of this hellish earthly life, and He alone knows what is best for us.

HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE
