SRI : || Dear Bhagavathaas, Hare Krishna. Pranaamams . From what our elders hv been practicing & telling, I wish to add the following few more points abt the subject: 1.Tulasi leaves shd not be plucked in the after noons & evenings. 2. Tulasi leaves shd not be plucked on

Amavasya, Poorrnima and Pithru Tharpanam & Sraardham days .For use for Puja on these days V shd pluck before & keep them. 3. While plucking Tulasi leaves there is specific Manthra to be chanted. One shd pray Tulasi by saying " V R plucking leaves only for the Puja of Sriman Narayana, Lord Krishna & so on and V be pardoned for this act" . 4. V shd lot pluck the leaves by using our nails and shd not pluck single leaves. There may be many more Niyamaas. Hare Krishna!I worship Tulsi everyday morning at home.I was informed some procedures regarding Tulsi (apartfrom pouring water everyday and doing routine pooja)which I would like to share with you.-> Every Tuesday and Friday it should be decoratedwith Haldi and

Kumkum.-> Seeds should not be removed by the person one whoprays. Somebody else only has to remove it.-> Seeds should not be removed on Tuesday or Friday.-> Leaves should not be plucked from the plant whichwe are praying.-> At any cost, ladies who got their period should notpray on that days and should not pour water to theplant. Even they should not go nearby the tree.-> If the tree has become old and if it has to bedestroyed also, it should not be thrown out, insteadit has to be removed and should be put in the pot onlyunder the sand.Regards,Padma. Hare Krishna!

One old lady (she is not our relative) who came to our

house one day. She was very happy to see the lamp

nearby Tulsi. She prayed there for a moment and then

she informed me all these.

Thanks,

Padma.
