Dear Sri Rajeev,

thank you for the wonderful message on Srimad NARAYANEEYAM. I used to

recite the NArayaneeyam from childhood,

and to put it in simple words, it was a wonderful feeling, reading each

one of the chapters, in widely differing

" vrittams " . Every mood, be it the prema (rasakreeda - starting with kesa

paasa dhrutha), roudra (narasimhavatharam - Sthambhe Ghattayatho

hiranyakashipor), the adbhutha (Kuchelopakhyanam - Kuchelanaamna

bhavathah satheerthyatham)

and many more..find presence in it, in the form of exquisite verses.

Each one of the verse has deep meanings,

and has to be savoured slowly and repeatedly. And the gain for us? -

deep, deep spiritual enrichment, peace of

mind and removal of mental and physical ailments. I offer my pranaam to

Melpattur Narayana Bhattatiri the embodiment

of Bhakti as well as Jnanam.

regards,

Hari

Hare Krishna. Dandavat Pranam to Bhagavan Sri Krishna and all

Vaishnavas,

Srimad Bhagavatam is the last of the eighteen Mahapuranas written by

Sage Veda Vyasa . This is the only book that describes in detail the

sportive incarnations of the Supreme God . It was handed over by

Bhagavan Sri Krishna to His disciple Uddhava just before His divine

ascent to Vaikunta . Krishna advised that , Bhagavatam would be a

substitute for His physical presence and would serve as the remedy for

all miseries of Kali-yuga . Bhagavatam 6.30 states " Here is Sri Krishna

Himself manifest before us under the name of Bhagavatam ; I have sought

You , O Lord ! for being rescued from mundane existence ! ).

One who reads a chapter, or at least a Sloka every day will receive

Bhagavan's blessings .

`Narayaneeyam' is a condensation of Bhagavatam . All the 18,000 slokas

of Bhagavatam are condensed into 1036 slokas, by ensuring the divinity

as it is . This was made possible by Bhagavan Sri Krishna Himself who

had listened every sloka patiently giving corrections and node of

approval .

It is not easy for ordinary Krishna-bhaktas to read and understand the

18,000 slokas of Bhagavatam . For eradicating the physical and mental

woes of such Bhaktas, Sri Krishna has mercifully arranged to provide

`Narayaneeyam' through His devotee-instrument Brahmasree.

Bhattatiri .

Narayaneeyam Dasakam 90 , Sloka 2 , 3 & 5 says :

" What is said to be the Pentad comprising the Trimurtis of Brahma,

Vishnu and Siva with Iswara and Sadasiva , the principle of Sadasiva is

You alone of the form of the Supreme Self . As for the principle of

Iswara in that Pentad , He is also You alone (Who is the resident of

Vaikunta-loka) . Again , You manifest Yourself as the three states of

the Trimurtis in the 3 divisions of Sattya-loka namely Brahma-loka ,

Vishnu-loka and Rudra-loka .

Among the three Gods known as Trimurtis , Your manifestation in

Suddha-sattva form is called Vishnu . Brahma , on the other hand is

deficient in Sattva-guna and is full of Rajo-guna . In Your

manifestation as Siva , there is a combination of Sattva-guna and

Tamo-guna " .

Acharya Adi Sankara too honours You alone as first among all Deities .

He for instance has interpreted `Sahasranama' and the like as pertaining

to You alone . And in the end he attained liberation, being engrossed in

praise of You " .

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya!!!

Dear Sri.Hariji,

Radhe Krishna!

Having very high appreciation of your interest in Narayaneeyam, I

couldnt help requesting you to access our website

www.narayaneeyam.com (if you have not already seen it!) wherein four

chapters of the Bhaktaranjini commentary has been uploaded. As the

website speaks for itself, I need not tell you any further. You are

already a Narayana-bhakta and hence need no introduction.

Love

K.V. Gopalakrishna.
