Guest guest
Hare Krishna ! Dandavat Pranams to Bhagavan Sri Krishna and all Vaishnavas , Today is "Narayaneeyam" day . In Guruvayoor temple , this day is celebrated with great devotion . "Narayaneeyam" is a conversation between poet Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri and Sri Krishna . It offers one an opportunity to visualise and worship Bhagavan Krishna by reading it or listening to its rendition . "Narayaneeyam" was written in the 15th century by Brahmasri Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri, as an epitome of Srimad Bhagavata Mahapuranam . He was his suffering from the ailment of paralysis . He wrote one hundred chapters at the rate of one chapter per day, sitting in front of the Deity of Guruvayoor temple. On the hundredth day, when he completed writing the hymn, he had the glorious vision of Sri Krishna ; and he got cured of paralysis . Bhattathiri composed it when he was twenty-seven, completing it on November 27, 1587. The theme of "Narayaneeyam" is based on the stories in Bhagavatham. This work, had received Krishna's divine intervention at different stages . It begins worshipping Lord Guruvayurappan in His divine form which is "Sandranandavabodhatmakam" and ends depicting Bhagavan as he sees Him before his mortal eyes . The `Parayana' (reading) of "Narayaneeyam" confers great benefits ; it is an effective faith therapy . It is recited as a general prayer and also as a panacea for all types of ailments . The personal experiences of the Poet himself have proved it's healing power beyond doubt . Afterwards, innumerable devotees have been cured of their ailments by the recitation of "Narayaneeyam". ( Note : I have witnessed this in the lives of many chronic patients .) The "Nithyaparayana" of "Narayaneeyam" will enable the devotee-reader to attain " Ayurarogyasoukhyam". It makes him a pure Krishna-bhakta , it concerns mainly about the present life – "Aarogyam" (health and freedom from diseases) and "saukhyam" (happiness) . Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya!!!
