Dear all,

Radhe Krishna!

The word for word meaning of the prayer to Sri Rama is as follows.

:

Om! = the Pranava Manthra comprising A, U and M. This manthra is

actually not part of the verse, but is used as a preamble to all

prayers.

Break of words:

Aapadam apahartaram dataram sarva-sampadaam

Loka-abhiramam Sriramam bhuyo bhuyo namami aham.

The prose order with meaning of each word in brackets, is as

follows

Aham (I) namami (offer prostrations) bhuyo bhuyo (again and

again) Sriramam (to Lord Sri Rama) apahartaram (who is the remover of)

aapadaam (ills, dangers, obstacles, sorrows), dataaram (giver of)

sarva-sampadaam (all well-being, wealth and auspiciousness) and

loka-abhiramam (who delights the whole world).

This prayer to Lord Sri Rama who is another .incarnation of Lord Vishnu

(like Lord Krishna) is specially made by devotees when they face

problems, dangers, etc.

Hope this explanation satisfies you.

Love

K.V. Gopalakrishna.

Hari Om,

I might be wrong.... I think the meaning is as

follows,

Aapadam – Difficulties, Troubles, Bad situations.

ApaHartaram – To destroy or to take that away from

Aapadam ApaHartaram – The who takes all troubles

difficulties away from us.

Dataram – Who gives.

Sarva – All.

Sampadam – All kind of Wealth (Spiritual/Material)

Dataram Sarva Sampadam – Who gives all kind of wealth

(Spiritual/Material)

Loka – People.

Abhiramam – Happiness.

Shree Ramam- Lord Ram.

Lokabhiramam Shree Ramam – Shree Ram Gives Happiness

to all the people.

Bhuyo Bhuyo – Again and Again.

Namamyham – Salutation.

Bhuyo Bhuyo Namamyham – I salute him again and again.

The who takes all troubles difficulties away from us,

The who Gives all kind of wealth (Spiritual/Material)

and the who gives Happiness to all the people to that

RAM, I salute again and again.

Regards
