Guest guest
Dear devotees of Lord Krishna! Radhe Krishna! Kindly permit me also to add a few words, further to my earlier mail on the subject of "Anger". According to my experience, anger is something which is not uncontrollable, but requires strict will-power to control it. One can do it with determination. First of all, one should have the conviction that one should NOT get angry and should not allow to develop it. The question of suppression comes only if it is developed in the mind. Once it is not developed, where is the question of suppression. The six enemies of man, Kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada and matsarya can be controlled by the mind. Once Kama and krodha are controlled, the others automatically come under control. Krishna is quoted as exhibiting His anger while He took Sudarsana Chakra and went like a lion to attack Bhishma in the war. It is wrong to interpret that it was an exhibition of anger, whereas it was an exhibition of love to His devotee, and to ensure that the words of the devotee does not become untrue. Bhishma, one of the most ardent devotees of the Lord had promised to see that the Lord takes weapon during the course of the war. And it is evident from the fact when Lord Krishna approached Bhishma with the Sudarsana chakra in hand, Bhishma laid down his own weapons, and stood with bowed head and folded hands, to show his respect for the Lord, in demonstrating His love for the devotee. This fact is specifically mentioned in Bhagavatam, in the "Bhishma-stuti". Further, when the Lord takes human form for the destruction of the evil and protection of the virtuous, He is mot prompted by Karma-bandha,but he has to,or rather forced to act like an actor acting in a drama and undergo/exhibit all emotions like a human being.. As examples, Rama's reaction when he heard of His father's demise, His externalmanifestation of sorrow when Sita was robbed by Ravana, although He was internally happy that events that lead to the fruition of His incarnation are really taking place. In other words, to quote divine personalities as exhibiting human emotions would amount to misinterpretation of the epics. Durvasa, for instance, was an incarnation of Lord Rudra who has a preponderance of Tamo-guna which was making him get angry for the simplest cause and pronounce curses. His reaction to Ambarisha's taking water and completing his parana after Ekadasi and cursing Indra as he placed the flower garland on the head of the elephant and was finally trampled upon by the elephant. These are all inexplicable sportive Leelas of the Lord, to teach the common man what is real dharma..
