SB 3.30.9: The attached householder remains in his family life, which is full of diplomacy and politics. Always spreading miseries and controlled by acts of sense gratification, he acts just to counteract the reactions of all his miseries, and if he can successfully counteract such miseries, he thinks that he is happy. SB 3.30.10: He secures money by committing violence here and there, and although he employs it in the service of his family, he himself eats only a little portion of the food thus purchased, and he goes to hell for those for whom he earned the money in such an irregular way. SB 3.30.11: When he suffers reverses in his occupation, he tries again and again to improve himself, but when he is baffled in all

attempts and is ruined, he accepts money from others because of excessive greed. SB 3.30.12: Thus the unfortunate man, unsuccessful in maintaining his family members, is bereft of all beauty. He always thinks of his failure, grieving very deeply. SB 3.30.13: Seeing him unable to support them, his wife and others do not treat him with the same respect as before, even as miserly farmers do not accord the same treatment to their old and worn-out oxen. SB 3.30.14: The foolish family man does not become averse to family life although he is maintained by those whom he once maintained. Deformed by the influence of old age, he prepares himself to meet ultimate death. SB 3.30.15: Thus he remains at home just like a pet dog and eats whatever is so negligently given to him. Afflicted with many illnesses, such as dyspepsia and loss of appetite, he eats only very small morsels of food, and he becomes an invalid, who cannot work any more. SB 3.30.16: In that diseased condition, one's eyes bulge due to the pressure of air from within, and his glands become congested with mucus. He has difficulty breathing, and upon exhaling and inhaling he produces a sound like ghura-ghura, a rattling within the throat. SB 3.30.17: In this way he comes under the clutches of death and lies down, surrounded by lamenting friends and relatives, and although he wants

to speak with them, he no longer can because he is under the control of time. SB 3.30.18: Thus the man, who engaged with uncontrolled senses in maintaining a family, dies in great grief, seeing his relatives crying. He dies most pathetically, in great pain and without consciousness. SB 3.30.19: At death, he sees the messengers of the lord of death come before him, their eyes full of wrath, and in great fear he passes stool and urine. SB 3.30.20: As a criminal is arrested for punishment by the constables of the state, a person engaged in criminal sense gratification is similarly arrested by the Yamadûtas, who bind him by the neck with strong rope and cover his subtle body so that he may undergo severe punishment. SB 3.30.21: While carried by the constables of Yamarâja, he is overwhelmed and trembles in their hands. While passing on the road he is bitten by dogs, and he can remember the sinful activities of his life. He is thus terribly distressed. http://vedabase.net/sb/3/30/en <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Posted by: "SUNRAYS MR" sunrays_mr sunrays_mr Sat May 26, 2007 9:54 am (PST) | | | Use your Body for the Sake of GodThese days you are using God for the sake of the body. You are not using your body to worship God. You pray to God for good health whenever you are sick, but you are not using all your physical strength and faculties, when you have them, to worship God. You imagine that there will be plenty of time later on to engage in worship, and so you go on wasting your time. You think that after retirement you can begin to take up the contemplation of God and do spiritual exercises. Perhaps you feel that it is better in the meantime to enjoy life and to enjoy the objects of the world while you are still young. But how can you start thinking of God

when you become old, after having lost all your capacities. If you are not using all your physical powers and capacities for the worship of the Lord now, then later it will be too late. When children make fun of you and call you 'old monkey!', will you then have the strength to start an intensive spiritual life? When your hair is gray, when you are hardly able to move, when you are barely able to see, when all the sense organs have become weak, will you then be able to use them for the worship of the Lord? No, it will not be possible. The scriptures have very forcefully described the futility of starting your spiritual practices only during your last days. It is stated that when the god of death finds you and shouts, "Come! Come!", when your own relations are anxious to get the corpse out of the house, when they are all shouting, "Take it away! Take it away!", and when your wife and children are there sobbing, can you think of the Lord at that time? Can you tell your

relatives to stop crying, can you tell death to wait a littlebit because you want to think of the Lord for a few moments? You should accumulate in youth all the things which are necessary to lay a strong foundation for a happy future. Do you really think that it is possible to think of the Lord only after you retire? No, it is not possible. You should be fully engaged in regular spiritual practice before retirement. But instead, you immerse yourself in business, and continue with that even after retirement, or waste your time going to clubs, and in many other ways dissipate your precious life.mukundansaibaba gitaDHARMA http://japa-mala.org Find out the benefits of Dharma, Yoga and Bhakti.http://www.geocities.com/suci123/forumannouncement5-14-07.htm Call or write if you need guidance and encouragement. http://www.geocities.com/suci123/dharma/cdasa/ Voicemail # 775-368-4002 ANYTIME FAX 775-314-3845
