Hare Krsna In this world there are many meritorious deeds (punya karma), but do we personally earn merit from them? Similarly, there are many sinful deeds that take place in this world, but do we get tarnished by them? No, we do not. Now why don't we get affected or tainted by them? It is because we have no relation with them. We have no participation, no hand in them. Just as sinful and virtuous deeds are taking place in this world, so also resolutions and their opposite are taking place in the mind. We are not actually doing those things, nor do we even want to do them, nor have we resolved to doing them. In fact, at no time do we want to really do these things. It is when we become attached and glued to these ideas, these resolutions, it is then only that we acquire the epithet of sin and virtuous acts, the good and bad, whereby they produce their corresponding results. Then we will have to bear the fruits (consequences) of these actions.

Therefore do not develop arelation with them; neither support them, nor oppose them. If resolves or their contrary arise, let them arise. This has to be done and this must not be done - Let us remove both these tendencies. "Naiva tasya krtenaartho naakrteneha kascana" (Gita 3:18). Do not have insistence about either doing something or not doing something. Both these assertions are a form of resolution. Both doing and not doing are a form of action. We have nothing to do with either doing or not doing. Be Silent. Then the relationship with nature is sundered, because it is nature that comes in the form of activity. Whether the activity is in the mind or outside, it in it's entirety belongs to nature (prakriti). Thus if you remain silent, both internally and externally, then knowledge of the Real (Tattvajnana), and liberation will be attained while still living in this world (jivanmukti), and effortless atonement (sahaj samaadhi) will take place

naturally.
