Guest guest
Jai Sreekrishna!! "If a piece of sandalwood is left lying in the mud, its outer part will become rotten. But what a wonderful fragrance we can still get from it if we clean it and rub it on a stone! As long as we are immersed in worldly things, we cannot enjoy the fragrance of the inner Self." Guest guest
Its 2007, if it stinks on the outside you can bet it is a whole lot worse on the inside. You see if you make a spiritual analogy by using wood as the analogical subject you will always be remonstrated at because people arent sandalwood stuck in the mud. ANALOGICAL topics are told to people who have low intelligence as well as they are remembered by people who have replaced analogies with the worship of God. Editor's Note:It may be inappropriate to say that only people of low intelligence read analogies,it is equally unwise to assume that people replace god's worship with analogies. It is just a perception in most cases. I have not come across anyone who worships analogies, so far. Analogies maybe useful to some, not too useful to those who have already started remembering Krishna daily in their lives and are chanting regularly. Some analogies help to gain a deeper insight into matters, and the scriptures - mainly upanishads, are full of analogies. Not all opur readers would want Mr Aniyan's messages to be stopped, however if there is a widespread populist demand, we can request Mr Aniyan to stop posting his analogies. --- <aniyan_ap wrote: > > Jai Sreekrishna!! > > " If a piece of sandalwood is left lying in the mud, its outer part will > become rotten. Guest guest
Jai Sreekrishna!! When I first read this quote, what I could learn from it is only that there is divinity within everyone and if we do spiritual practices we can bring it outside as well which will be useful to the society. I did not think nothing else. Jai Sreekrishna!!steve verges <skuint wrote: Its 2007, if it stinks on the outside you can bet itis a whole lot worse on the inside. Guest guest
Dear all, Rade Krishna! Vedanta philosophy is full of analogies which are quite commonplace facts, and which are quoted for the common person to understand. For instance, the all-pervading nature of Atman is compared to the imager of the sun reflected on many surfaces like a mirror, water in a vessel, muddy water in a pond, etc. Again, to bring home the fact that whatever changes happen to the physical body does not affect the Atman. The analogy of the waxing and waning of the moon is brought in this context to say that the change which takes place does not affect the moon in any way, but is only the reflected surface of the moon as seen from the earth. Such analogies do not mean or imply any insult to anybody or try to say that people are of low intelligence etc. I request all to take the implied meanings in the correct perspective and right spirit and refrain from making remarks which are not in good taste. Personally speaking, I like the points Mr. Aniyan tries to bring home to us and I wish he continues to send the quotes. Regards K.V. Gopalakrishna Parameswaran wrote: Jai Sreekrishna!! Guest guest
I liked his analogy, it reminds us to look at natural beauty brought to us by Krsna, rather than allowing ourselves to be consumed with the negativity of the typical day in Kali Yuga. Does this make me one with low intelligence? Nah I think it's pompous to throw stones at those who are simply trying to help show us the way toward love............ Guest guest
If somebody does not appreciate anoter's view point, he is at liberty to delete it and keep quiet. No good slinging mud at someone who is trying to do some good As I said earlier, Vedanta philosophy is full of such analogies which the commonest of the common man can understand. It does not imply that the reader is of low intellect. Regards K.V.
