Hare Krsna. In reality, it is our dharma, our own duties in life, that will lead us to our salvation. Therefore God says - "Shreyaanswadharmo vigunaha pardharmaatsvanushithtaat,Swadharme nidhanam sreyah paradharmo bhayaavahah." (Gita 3:35) "Better is one's own duty, devoid of merit, than the duty of another well performed. Better is death in one's own duty, than of another, which is fraught with danger." (Gita 3:35)One who is a protector of dharma (eternal principles), he is protected by dharma itself - "Dharmo rakshiti rakshitaha." (Manu 8:15). He who fulfills his duties, his protection and salvation lies in the hands of Dharma, God, the Scriptures, the Vedas, the great sages, wise ones, etc. Rather, it is on their strength, that he attains salvation. Just like the scriptures say that a married woman attains salvation simply by being a chaste wife. This happens with the strength of God,

Vedas and scriptures, that have laid down the instruction on being a chaste wife. Salvation is not attained from the strength of the husband. However good or bad the husband's conduct may be, then too by simply being chaste, a married woman attains her salvation. From "Sant Samaagam" in Hindi by Swami Ramsukhdasji, page 101
