upon your noble self always.

 

HH BS Damodara Swami Sripada Maharaja launched a prestigious project of

Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra Manimandir in 1991 to satisfy his spiritual

master, Srila Prabhupada's desire to make Manipur to be an ideal and a

scientific Vaishnava state. Sripada's project of the Manimandir, 55 ft.

high spread over an area of 11,230 sq. ft. is a unique concept having a

design of a cluster of 24 octagonal shaped and symmetrically located

reinforced concrete domes to be topped with glass mosaic tiles etc. along

with gold plated Kalashams, particularly on the three deity domes to look

like the shining jewels. Sripada's concept is based on the belief of the

puranic history that Manipur is known as the Land of Jewels and also to

depict its rich cultural and aesthetical traditional art. So, he desired

to call it a Manimandir project.

 

Not only that, Sripada desired to make the Manimandir project integrated

with that of the University of Bhagavata Culture (UBC) so that the

Manimandir will be the centrepiece of UBC, which will serve as a catalyst

for the globalization of the teachings of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad

Bhagavatam, the creams of Sanatana Dharma. Sripada desired the younger

generations to learn the deeper meaning and values of life through this

applied spiritual science in the present age of science and technology.

 

Thus, Srila Sripada planned to complete the Manimandir according to his

conceptual design and inaugurate it on the Kartika-purnima of 21st

November 2007. This particular day was selected by Srila Sripada taking

into consideration the fact that the installation of Sri Sri Govindaji,

the principal deity of the Manipuris, by Rajarshi Bhagyachandra took place

on this day of Kartika-purnima in 1776. However, the temple could not be

finished before Sripada took Samadhi and it has become the responsibility

of all of us to fulfill the instructions of our Guru Maharaj now. Hence,

we seek the generous supports and helps from our godbrothers and

godsisters, and particularly from Sripada's godbrothers and godsisters and

other well-wishers, to enable us complete the Manimandir timely. Indeed,

we have been working hard to mobilize whatever funds that can be raised

from all sources to continue the progress of the work. But, there is very

less scope for raising any appreciable amount of money even for the

unavoidable works on the three main deity domes, such as fixing of the

Kalashams and the gold foil lamination etc.

 

Completion of Kalashams for three (3) deity domes viz. Sri Sri Radha

Krishnachandra, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai and Sri Sri Jaganatha, Balabhadra and

Subhadra Rani is of priority because shifting of deities for construction

purpose from their original altars time and again may not be so desirable.

 

So, these urgent and priority works for the purpose of the inauguration

like the installation of Kalashams, finishing of the entrance staircases

etc., may cost around Rs. 40 to 45 lakhs and the same is our immediate

necessity. Besides these there are other priority works such as wood

works, altar extensions, altar ceiling decoration, other wooden decorative

works and polishing etc. etc. So, we need the blessings of your noble self

and others at such a critical time.

 

We now make this humble appeal to your noble self and through your noble

self, to those well-wishers and close associates of Srila Sripada, and

godbrothers and godsisters, for contributing generous donations and such

contributions of any amount may kindly be sent in the accounts of either

 

(1) " Sri Manimandir Dome " maintained in the " State Bank of India, Imphal

they do not say " Swift " , but theirs is " IFC " and the No. is

" IFC/IOBA0000732 " , and Account No. is " 12676 " (One Two Six Seven Six)

only.

 

It is assured that whatever contribution of any amount donated will be

hundred percent utilised towards completion of the Manimandir project of

ISKCON Manipur, and all such accounts are of transparency and

accountability. The utilisation statements if so desired may also be sent

to the concerned donor(s).

accomplished timely.
