Dandavat Pranams to Bhagavan Krishna and Vaishanavas ! ,

Introduction

To guide His Bhaktas , Gurvayoorappan ( Sree Krishna) inspired favorite devotee-Poet Poonthanam to compile "Jnanappana ". The draft copy of this book was edited by, Bhagavan Himself .

"Jnanappana " ( Song of Knowledge) describes the basic aspects of Bhakti-Yoga at a practical level . It highlights that one can attain Bhagavan Krishna by chanting His names . Recitation of "Jnappana" is very dear to Bhagavan Krishna . As desired by Bhagavan , "Jnanappana" is being recited at Guruvayoor temple everyday .

Based on an article by Shri. P.R.Ramachander , I will be posting in this group , the English translation of "Jnanappana" in twelve parts . Part -1 is given below :

JNANAPPANA

( Sloka # 1 to 5)

Sloka – 1

Request I, for the grace from my Guru ,So that Bhagavan's holy names are always on my tongue,And continue to remain there forever ,So that our, human birth becomes fruitful.

Note : The prayer starts with salutations to the Supreme Guru ( Sree Krishna) .

Sloka – 2

Till yesterday we did not know it ,Even tomorrow we may not know it,The death to this trunk which is the body that we see today,Know we not when it is .

(We do not know what we were in the last birth,We do not know what we will be in the next birth,Even in this birth in this human body,Know we not when all this is going to end.)

Note : Shows the ignorance filled life of the so called intelligent human being .

Sloka – 3

The people who are seen around , You are the one who pretends to haven't seen them . In a matter of day or two ,

You are He, who makes them ride on the royal chair .

On the shoulder of the King who has attained the palace , You are He , who places the tattered heap ( of a Beggar ) .

Note : Sometimes Bhagavan pretends to haven't seen the people . But, sometimes, He elevates someone to the throne within a day or two . He is the one who converts a King to a Beggar within no time . Our life is "God controlled" and all happiness and sorrow are temporary .

Sloka – 4

Some people are able to understand when they see ,But, others do not understand even after seeing it .Some people know that all what we see is not the truth,For they have seen it earlier and experienced.

Note : In the capacity to understand the real truth about Bhagavan and salvation , we are very much different among ourselves .

Sloka – 5

Remember that Even in the mankind , there are many specialities for each mind .

Note : Each human mind has different attributes .

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya!!!
