Dandavat Pranams to Bhagavan Krishna and Vaishanavas ! ,

Introduction

To guide His Bhaktas, Bhagavan Krishna inspired His favorite devotee-Poet Poonthanam to compile "Jnanappana " ( Song of Knowledge) . The draft copy of this book was edited by, Bhagavan Himself .

The following Sloka # 11 to 15 , explain cores concepts such as Maya, Law of Karma , Punishment and Refinement in Hell , Reincarnation , Elevation to Heaven, etc .

" JNANAPPANA "

( Sloka # 11 to 15)

Sloka – 11

This world which is made by one illusion (Maya) ,has three differing types of actions,Sins, Pious deeds and Mixture of these two.

If we anlayze , we can see these three .are tieing the soul firmly to this world.

Note : The Concept of Maya, the eternal veil of Hinduism is introduced. How Maya ties us to this world thorough our Bad, Good and Mixed deeds .

Sloka – 12

Out of these two , one is like being tied by a gold chain ,

and the only difference of the other is that it is by an Iron Chain .

The chain of `Karma' that ties us to this world ,is no different but a mixture of these two .

Comment : The worldly rewards such as, recognition , punishment etc are mere illusions .

Sloka – 13

Know that even the performer of Brahma-Vidya ,

is bound to this world by Karma .The worlds would continue to be made, until the end is caused by Deluge ( Pralayam) .And to overcome these ties of Karma,Is definitely not easy even for Lord Brahma. And even the "Dik-Palaks" ( divine 8 Guards who guard each of 8directions),are chained strongly in their respective places ( by `Karma' ).

Note : The chain of `Karma' ties every one to this world . Even Lord Brahma or other Devatas can not escape from the `Karma-bondage' .

Sloka – 14

We who have done just a little bit of Karma, have only a small span of life-time .

We enter and leave the wombs of different animals, and play thus with the `Karma' that we have earned .

Note : The law of Karma and the concept of `Reincarnation' are explained here . Accumulated `Karma' is the cause of `reincarnation' for each being . Sloka – 15

Those souls who are in the hell, after suffering the deserving punishments there, and after getting a reformed mind over a period of time, are born as Men in this world .

If good deeds are done here , they go above, and enjoy their life in heaven.

Note : Punishment for one's bad-karma in hell , his refinement, rebirth in this world, and ultimate reward for his meritorious `karma' in heaven are explained here .
