When you chant Harinaam, you get Krishna's attention.Krishna loves

His devotees more than anything else.So when you chant Harinaam, you

get the attention of the Lord himself, and what can be greater than

that achievement? So chanting incessantly means always being with the

Lord at all times.I began to understand this when I unknowingly

stopped chanting my beads, and began to spend more time listening to

Harinaam through Bhajans.Later I realised that I must strike a

balance between one action (chanting with my beads) and the other

action (listening to Harinaam). Both actions are equally important,

and then the other actions are equally important:- (all nine actions

summed up below:)

Sravanam

Listening to the Lord's stories, Leelas and Mahimas.

(in public with devotees or at home)

Kirtanam

Singing the glories of the Lord's Name.

(in public with devotees or at home)

Smaranam

Remembrance of Lord's Name.

(by doing Japa in company of devotees or alone at home)

Pada Sevanam

Service to the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

(in the temple, in the Altar at home)

Archanam

Worship of the Lord.

(In the Temple/Altar)

Vandanam

Salutation of the Lord.

(In the Temple/Altar)

Dasyam

Master and Servant Relationship

(like the one between Sri Rama and Hanuman)

Sakhyam

Companionship of the Lord.

(frienship Bhava like Arjuna had)

Atma Nivedanam

Offering oneself to the Lord in complete self-surrender.
