Dandavat Pranams to Bhagavan Krishna and Vaishanavas ! ,

Introduction

"Jnanappana " ( Song of Knowledge) is a divine hymn . Bhagavan Krishna inspired His Devotee-Poet Poonthanam to write it . It's draft copy was edited by Bhagavan Himself .

The following Sloka # 55 to 59 , describes how to perform `Bhakti-yoga' :

A Devotee should survive on Alms .

All focus must be on `nama-japa' , until last breath . Don't worry about other things .

While immersed in Bhakti-yoga, ignore other's praise , insult , sarcasm, neglect , etc .

This Body has life only up to the expiry of prescribed "Karma" .

Saying of hearing Bhagavan Krishna's nama , at least once a day , is sufficient to attain salvation .

" JNANAPPANA "

( Sloka # 55 to 59 )

Sloka – 55

We get food as alms, and only eating remains to be done.

Note : For the Devotee , whatever little he gets as Alms is sufficient .

Sloka – 56

Always without attachment and always, with extreme devotion we should chant the names of Bhagavan Krishna , till the life span allotted to us is over . And like this all of us should live carefully .We should praise all the beings that we see .

without any sense of shame . filled with tears of joy,and ignoring out insults heaped . When we see holy people around.

we should prostrate at their feet .Drowning in the sense of devotion, like a drunkard we should dance with Bhakti .If we travel in this world like this ,all "prarabda" ( ill-effects of past Karma) would run away from us.

Note : The ecstasic state of Bhakthi and how it solves all problems is well brought out in this verse.

Sloka – 57

When the prescribed Karma is over, the body falls in one place . And seeing the Brahman which was ever longed for, immediately the soul jumps towards it.

Note : After death the body remains here and the soul tries to reach the Brahman .

Sloka – 58 - 59

While wandering without any desires ,if we are not respected by others ,

there is no need to feel sad in the mind .

Instead , please hear the greatness of Bhagavan's holy name.Even if one belongs to the lowest caste,or a learned higher caste expert in Vedas, except those who are born without tongue, and who are made dumb by nature ; Out of the uncountable holy names of Bhagavan,at least one, once in a day,at least when are happy and contended,or at least in dreams without our control,or at least teasing Him as some other,or at least for the sake of some one else, wherever we are,If we tell with our tongue,Or at least if once hear the name with our ear,we will get salvation then and there, and would become one with Bhagavan .

And so say Sreedharacharya the great scholar, and Sage Vyasa who wrote the puranas.

Note : This is the conclusion . Without care in ecstacy if we sing the name of Bhagavan or hear it, whatever circumstance it may be , we would get salvation .

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya!!!
