Lord Guruvayurappan saved him from the jaws of death

Krishna Karunya Sindho ! The Lord’s Prasad By Dr.K.Venkateswaran Zaria, Nigeria in March 1968 Last September 4, as usual I was doing puja sitting before Lord Guruvayurappan. It was 9 in the morning. I was reading portions from Narayaneeyam, Bhagavatham etc. When I was virtually immersed in the ocean of bliss, the daughter of my friend staying in the same colony came to me and said: “Dada, my father wants you to come immediately.” I told her I would come after finishing the puja and continued my reading of Bhagavatham as it was not proper to stop reading before completing a chapter. After fifteen minutes, the child came again. She said her father’s condition was very bad and requested me to come at once. I stopped everything and went to their house. Her father was suffering from several diseases for the past 15 days and was extremely weak. At the same time, the two dogs kept in their house were barking and letting out some sound which indicated bad omen. “What shall we do Guruvayurappa?” I thought and stood there helplessly. The patient had to support his wife, seven children and old mother with a low salary. I inwardly prayed to Lord Guruvayurappan before entering the patient’s room. Seeing his suffering, I wondered whether he would be cured at all. His entire body had burning sensation. There was infection in the throat and from there the pus entered the stomach causing

pain and burning. There was difficulty in passing urine, no intake of food and above all extreme fear stalked him. His condition was serious and critical, almost reaching his end. The Sree Krishna Jayanthi festival was at hand. The next day I received Lord Guruvayurappan’s sandal paste, prasad, garland etc which had been sent by Shri Anjam Thirumeni. There

is no point in feeling sad in death. But at the same time it is meritorious to think of God. So I visited him and gave him the sacred prasad - the sandal paste and Tulsi of Lord Guruvayurappan. I also explained to him the glory of Lord Guruvayurappan –how the Christian lady from Pondicherry was cured of her throat cancer. “Apply this prasad daily and chant His names. He will protect you”, I said and left. He mixed the sandal paste with Ganga water and took a little of it inside. On the next visit, I saw something wonderful. The dog’s barking had stopped. It appeared that the servants of Yama had fled. He had suffered extreme pain because of medicine over dose. All the medicines given so far were stopped and a new treatment by a skilled Doctor was started. Within a week, he

was 90 per cent cured. When we partake of Bhagavan’s prasad with bhakthi and faith and pray to Him, He gives us health and life. But we can’t develop bhakthi and shradha in Lord Guruvayurappan without His mercy and blessing.
