Hare Krsna. Question: When God is the provider and caretaker of all beings, then why is it that men die of hunger?Answer: This is their "praarabdh," their fate, their destiny, their deeds performed in earlier births. God does not see it as essential for these men. Just like a doctor may tell a particular patient not to eat certain grains and food, because it is the intention of the doctor to cure the sick man. The point is that only those die of hunger, whose living is not seen as essential by God. In reality, what is essential is only God (Supreme Consciousness) . Dying of hunger is also a spiritual practice, through which penance and remorse of past sins takes place. We see things from our point of view, that God should do so and so and must not do something, but God knows more than us, he is more compassionate and merciful than us and more powerful and more capable than us. Question: Inspite of the presence of

God, filled with eternal generosity, why is it that people are poverty striken? Answer: People do not leave the perishable objects, then what can God's generosity do? If someone does not go next to Gangaji, does not drink her water, then how will he get the cool effect ? As long as the attraction and pull of the destructible things is not wiped out, till that time, man is unable to comprehend God's generosity.
