Marutmandiresha! Lord Guruvayurappan Cured It Without Surgery By L. Chellam Gopalakrishnan, Vadakkancheri in April 1969 Kashtate srishtichesta bahutharabhavakedaavaha jeevabhaaja mithyevam poorvamaalochita majita maya; naivamadyabhijane no chel jiva: kadham va madhuthara midham twadwapu chidra saardram netrai: srothraicha peetwa paramarasasudhan bhodipure rameran (Narayaneeyam. Dasaka 1 Sloka 7) [0 Thou unconquered! It was thought of by me earlier that Thy work of creation was miserable, insofar as it brings on beings various kinds of worldly miseries. But I do not at present view it thus. But for that (creation), how can beings exult in the full ocean of that ambrosial supreme bliss, enjoying with their eyes and ears this, Thy form, more lovely and pervaded with the power of chit (consciousness)]. Our youngest child is eight years old now. Even after 28 days from his birth, his umblical cord did not fall. One day, while bathing, it fell off, but in that place, a short half inch long growth of the thickness of a slate pencil was noticed and also some blood. The child did not have any health problem nor any pain. He was always cheerful. But seeing this growth we were extremely worried. We tried all medicines — allopathy, homoeopathy, grandmother’s medicines and so on, but in vain. Even after nine months, the blood did neither stop, nor did the growth subside. We consulted a doctor at Thrissur. He examined him thoroughly and advised surgery. He also suggested the name of a lady doctor who was good in such operations. Even after nine months, the child was lying on its back. It could not sleep on either side or on the stomach. But he was cheerful and playful. What would be his fate if he was subjected to operation endangering, his life? This thought troubled us and we prayed to Lord Guruvayurappan that we should be spared from all the troubles. Then, one day it occurred to us that whatever the matter, we should go to Guruvayur first and conduct the child’s feeding ceremony there. Thereafter we could act as advised by the doctor. “Is not Bhagavan bhaktavalsala? Will He give trouble to His devotees?” We thought along these lines and decided to go there first and pray before taking a decision. At Guruvayur, we happened to go to a medical shop on the western side of the temple. Unexpectedly, the vaidyar there happened to notice the navel of the child and enquired about it. To us who were constantly worried about this, his enquiry gave us some relief. Since he was a doctor we expected he would give us some medicine. We explained to him everything. He pondered over the matter and said: “You go to the temple and then come. The Lord will cure this without any operation. Trust Him”. We thought Guruvayurappan Himself said this to console us and entered the temple happily. Although I went inside the temple constantly thinking about the child, when I stood before the deity I didn’t know what for we had come and what to pray. However, we conducted the feeding ceremony and named the child ‘Kannan’. We had darshan again and returned to the medical shop. The doctor gave us some oil to be

applied. He said: “This oil has not been prescribed by me and you can take it as having been prescribed by Bhagavan. Anyway, you think of surgery only after applying the oil”. The doctor told us to apply the oil for just three days and we wondered how it could cure when several oils and ointments we had applied, did not have any effect. All the same we decided to try it since it was prescribed by the Lord Himself. We reached home with the oil. We prayed: “Oh Lord, we have no one to turn to except you. Please bless us. We then applied the oil. Miraculously, the child slept well that night. The next day we found the growth in the navel had disappeared. “Where had it gone, the growth which was to be operated”, we wondered. I cannot describe adequately this wonderful experience. Whoever knew about this were equally surprised. If the child was operated its life would have been in danger. It was only the Lord who saved us from all this. Once the growth vanished, the child started sleeping on its stomach. It is quite clear that in this case Lord Guruvayurappan Himself decided on the treatment and cured the child. We cannot describe our happiness adequately. Sankha chakra gadhaa paane Dwarakanilayaachuta Govinda Pundarikaksha Rakshamam saranagatham. The above was a real experience of our Bhagavan’s grace narrated by a reader of the “Sri Guruvayurappan”–a monthly magazine of the Sri Guruvayurappan Sankeerthana Trust, founded by Thirunamacharya Shri Anjam Madhavan Nambudiri (1918-1988), a scholar devotee who held vast audiences spellbound by his inimitable discourses on Bhagavata and the Namasankirtan. I request all our group members(who are rs of the “Sri Guruvayurappan” monthly magazine) to provide me with the scanned pages of “Anubhava Katha” columns. I wish to translate it into English so that we all can be blessed by knowing more and more about our Guruvayurappan’s Karunyam. So, if any of you out there has any volume, any month, any year-old or new issues, kindly help me in this project by sending those pages to me. I also wish to make a website for sharing these blessings of Lord Guruvayurappan with the world. So, I request all our group members to send their divine experiences to me – in English, Malayalam or Manglish(Malayalam typed out in English). Please share how you were blessed by Lord Guruvayurappan - how He answered your prayers, how He saved you from danger, how He healed you, how His grace protected you, how He fulfilled your wishes, how He appeared before you etc. The Glory of Lord Guruvayurappan is such that all of us can be blessed by recounting His Leelas.

Hare Krishna ! Dear Devotees ,

This was really an interesting mail . Bhagavan's mercy to His Devotees

is infinite . Although we can't see Him, Bhagavan Krishna is always taking care

of His

Bhakthas . When a Bhaktha is in trouble and seeks Bhagavan's help,

Krishna helps him through chosen mediums . Although such helps looks to

be strange coincidence, there is Bhagavan's hidden hand behind it .

If one chants the " Hare Krishna " manthra ( Hare Krishna Hare Krishna ,

Krishna Krishna Hare Hare , Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare "

with Bhakti , it will burn down his " Prarabda " ( ill-effects of past

sins) . When a Bhaktha is in trouble , he should surrender to Bhagavan

and seek the advice of pure Devotees ( Brahmana Priests in Krishna

temples, Sanyasins, Sattvic-Vaishnavas, etc) . Bhagavan will guide the

needy Bhaktha through them .

Jai Sree Krishna !!!!
