Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I feel that we as humans have more power over the other forms of life. And so, our responsibility is greater. If a mosquito bites us, that is it's karma. But we, who can think and have options, we have the option of shooing it away rather than killing it. Like a famous fable ... once a sadhu was trying to save a drowning scorpion. Each time the sadhu picked the scorpion from the stream, it stung the sadhu's hand. This happened many times. People gathered around the sadhu and asked him why is he persisting in saving this scorpion who is biting him again and again? The sadhu replied that the scorpion's karma is to bite so it is doing it's karma. I am doing my karma by trying to save it. This is my karma.
